really they have a master in econ and management and still cant find a job? Shit i was playing to do those subjects in the university? By the way did they try to gain some working experiences between their honors and master? I heard from a hr manager that they will usually quiz the ppl with why they advance to master straight away. If there is no good explanation like u receive a scholarship then they will need to think thrice before hiring as u are overqualified as a junoir and too inexperience to hold good positions.

going into full time NS n after he ORD, he applied for a position in ST.
They informed he too overqualified n he went to migrate to Australia.
To study is good but coming back to work, a fren of mine seemed to be a loyal
Sporean n many local complained about how lousy Spore is, he said seemed
many Malaysian can come to Spore to work but not vice versa. In fact, Malaysian economy is doing well for the past year. -
the number of graduates of all ages and races that are poorly or not employed are very much less than the number of poorly educated and ageing that are lowly employed or not at all.
its called maximize the vote counts. If for example, they contest Nee Soon central and east and focus on helping 10 graduates over 1000 lowly paid or poor, then they get 10 votes but lose 1000 votes. NS central has lost once to WP. Its still the weakest link till today.
If i remember someone at the top once made this comment, a graduate with a degree that can made it through university is sure to be smart and capable to get a good job anywhere, that includes going overseas.
Thats why society treat graduates as someone smart and capable of taking care of themself. if not his degree or masters is just as good as no degree. -

Suggest you think very carefully before you pursue any furher studies. There are an abudance of singaporean graduates with very high qualifications with more than one degree, some of them have better qualifications than our ministers, that are unemployed / underpaid / or unemployable due to their vast experiences no local employer even want to interview them!
Some of these guys took the govt advice and upgraded themselves to this state! -

Could it be the truth is that a 'fresh grad' has the degree that pose a threat to your empty boast of having "an economics degree" ?
Perhaps we can believe you have an "economics degree" judging by the economy in your posting with "no brainer one-liners"

finally the govt. has a $30 million package to help redesign keep older workers ( which includes grads, too) employed which is a welcome but is it 8 years too late? Did it take our Top guys in the govt to wake up and to come to graps with the reality that older workers were really having difficulties staying employed and been re-employed?
