willing to spend is a very subjective issue. everyone have their own spending habit, you can't classified ppl as good economic mean spend more money, this is very irrational. there are many spendthrift ppl as well as many people that are careful of their own finance.Originally posted by geodome:If bread and butter are not issues, then Singaporeans should become more willing to spend. Why don't you ask people who run SMEs of their opinion? They know better. They don't need to see figures published by the government.
Aiyo, got people who earn a lot but not willing to spend. I've got relatives who live in bungalows but give $4 red packets. Doesn't mean economy better, salary better means spend more. My relatives very good example.Originally posted by geodome:If bread and butter are not issues, then Singaporeans should become more willing to spend. More of your 'no brainers' with nothing to offer but 'one-liners'. .Originally posted by Salman:Don't ask for specifics, these whiners won't answer you.
If it's SME, the impact is not that huge. The thing is, it is an MNC. If IBM ever closes down one day, then you will know. For your info, IBM hires the most workers in the IT world, if not the world. A very big company.Originally posted by innosaint:Yup, a major Company just close down & laid off it's workers.(Toshiba)
Tell ppl whats there not to whine about when you are one of the sacked worker & yr Govt is telling you "more Good years ahead" !!![]()
So... do you want to pay for their cost of education, whiner?Originally posted by Salman:Bread and butter is really not the real issue, the real issue are the whiners and I can assure you that with better education, the number of whiners will dramatically reduce cos people will know how to think and will not be fooled anymore.

You so sure that with education we will have less whiners? I think it will go the opposite way. Since they know how think, they will be thinking much more in-depth why the government implemented this policy, and if they find that the government is trying something funny with them, they will complaining again.

You have a valid point; wider knowledge and education, will indeed produce more people who can criticise the gov.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:You so sure that with education we will have less whiners? If you studied Singapore's history, you should have known. Some Singaporeans went to overseas for studies. They were influenced by the West. They want independence, not some colony of other great countries.
