He said the white in the flag represents minorities and he believes Pakistan is a tolerant society. My friend and I looked to each other with amazement, I couldn't help blurting out a smile and we broke out into wide grins.
Later on in the background, we can hear from a loudspeaker from the nearby mosque acros the alley. I sounded like a fiery speech and I asked the man what the mesage was. He looked embarassed. My Indian friend who knows Urdu told me that it was a death to infidels speech.
I have seen it up close my friend. You can't deny the reality of extremism and how pervasive it is. -
