I am now unemployed due to retrenchment and restructuring of jobs..
The job offers I received are mostly cleaners and dishwashers at the East and Central part of Singapore..
It is based on my educational level .. (I used to be a clerk in a company.)
The question is how fair are you willing to travel all the way just to earn $450- 600 ..
MRT is quite convenient.. but you have to wake up early, take bus to MRT Station, then take bus again to your workplace
When you go home, you have to wait for bus (which are usually crowded, and bus take you to MRT station.. And from MRT station, you have to take bus home..

This take a toll of monthly expenses out of $450- $600 gross pay... Net pay after CPF will be even less..
9 am to 10 pm every day for these jobs..
(As recommended by WDA).

do a calculation of your daily expense and monthly expense which include. all meals, transport, ciggys, hp (even any installment commitments like wen u buy a car or furniture).....
deduct this amount from the pay u will b drawing. do u save anythg?
another way of viewg it is tt earng a few hundred $$$ is betr thn being jobless n not earng anythg at all. mayb acceppt the job !st thn in the meantime luk for a betr one -
In the first place, let me ask; HOW the FXXK!, is a person to survive on a gross pay of S$600???
Supposing a person is not choosy, someone please calculate based on a S$600p/mth salary, WHAT is left after all the necessary deductions. -

I think waitering jobs pay more leh. why dont you try those instead?

I remember my very first fulltime job paid me about $600 plus..... (i was abt 18, O level cert), and that was working front desk in a hotel, 3 shift job. -
I think if you wanna take job that pays $600 a month, get one where you can walk there.
Assuming that it only cost you $2 (it's more these days usually) for a 2 way trip it would cost you $60 per month! That is like 10% of your pay on travelling expenses. -
Actually, if you worked as a clerk before, maybe you should consider working as a counter nurse in a clinic. They can pay at least $1000 usually.

If you can drive, how about doing part time delivery? The market rate for delivery is $40 a trip. Wait outside Ikea and offer $35 there are bound to be takers. -

Do you think employers will employ me?
I know some of you will suggest I go to Bizlink Centre, but Bizlink pay very much lower about $300 and below, and you have to work until 10 pm to get $500 pay. after some deduction the pay will be very low...
BTW, Bizlink is at Chai Chee, and I live in Bukit Batok area , I have to take bus to Bukit Batok MRT then to Bedok MRT , then change to bus..
That's the reason why some disabled would rather go and basking or sell tickets / tissue paper at MRT Station or even begging on the streets ... -

Sorry, but I do not know any of his details and I don't mean to be a cold shoulder, but honestly, the most the MP will do is reply him a letter saying who he could ask help from. U need to calculate the time from your home to work, time for travelling to and back.
not forgetting the time u get wash up and ready to rest. against the cost.

There are always jobs available that meet people's requirement but unfortunately, the advertising and information spread may be limited and costly, denying people access to the RIGHT info. Apart from Newspapers, the only other source is from your circle of friends.
In your case, it is totally understandable where paying an average of SGD$6/- (round trip) a day for transport, spending on average SGD$4/- on lunch meals, making it an even SGD$10/- per day when you only earn an average monthly income of SGD$450~600/-. All points to ridiculous travelling time and expenditure. -

Bo ko leng to survive on that amount if you still have bills to account for, housing, and a family to feed.
Even if you work full-time in a restaurant as a waiter, you can easily earn close to $1000/month. -
