I truely ask the question "whose order made it so?"I really don't know who gave the order so i can't imply GCT.Of course,that person should be a PAP man.Originally posted by PRP:When CSJ asked GCT: "Where is our money?"Since then,newspapers published all ugly photo of CSJ.Whose order made it so?Like that,how could he win elections?

According to 2001's voting guide, the valid reasons for not voting are:
* Working or studying overseas during the election;
* Being on a business trip overseas;
* Living with a spouse who is working or studying overseas;
* Holidaying abroad; and
* Being sick during the election.
On a seperate topic, when SM Goh seyz that election is on the first 2 weeks of May, and considering the fact that nowadays, voting are held on Sat.. that basically leaves 6th of May.. as the 13th May period is a long weekend with 12th May (Fri) as Vesak Day.. and as typical Singaporeans..a significant bulk of this will (or has already) planned to go for a short trip overseas... so it's unlikely that election would hit right smack in the middle of the long weekend. My prediction logical?
Actually, come to think of it, which clause in the Parliamentary Elections Acts prescribes any form of "appropriate dressing" for candidates submitting election papers?Originally posted by anonymouscoward:Do PAP candidates wear slippers to submit their election papers? Was the DPP candidate at fault for not having the basic courtesy and respect to be dressed appropriately?
Let's examine both sides of the coin.
No, long weekend is a good day for polling.Originally posted by kokwhye:http://www.channelnewsasia.com/cna/ge/guide/voting.htm

An election is an solemn and serious affair. What are u telling the public by wearing slippers to the election centre? That this is just an normal routine for u, as normal as going down to ur house downstairs hawker centre?Originally posted by PRP:The local newspapers is controlled by the govt (PAP man is the chairman of SPH).That's the problem.Can u expect them to be fair always?
I don't see anything wrong to wear slipper to submit election form.He felt it is comfortable.Do u want ppl to wear coat for that occasion?
You on the spot, PAP candiates is it?Originally posted by Rock^Star:My inside new is that Voting Day will be on 6 May 2006.
My hunch is that if PAP ever wins back Hougang and Potong Pasir, the election boundaries will be redrawn in such a way that no opposition will ever win it again.
Your vote matters.

Also, in regards to another post, i don't see why the government should provide for a good opposition. The opposition themselves can jolly well fend for themselves. it is like asking MNCs to give money, or to provide support to campaigns launched by their competitors. The opposition cannot attract people of calibre to join them, that's their problem.
