Prolly the only force worth mentioning were the commumists in the 60s - 70s. After that, theres hardly any creditable opposition. In the first place the term 'opposition' doesnt seems appropriate. Given the majority Singaporean narrow perpective, 'opposition' sounds like a negative force, trouble markers.
If theres a limited capacity for the mental state and the physical state then the mind will be impoverished while the stomach is filled. The younger generation has too much material to feel any hunger, any drive or any ambition to excel.
But alas its not the quantity but the quality of life. A life without ideals and ideas is no worth living even if one live untill 100 years old.
We can stop by labelling them the Opposition, and instead call them by their rightful party names.
