the way students dress in uniform when outside school

students seriously should learnto dress properly when in uniform when outside school. they dun understand that when outside school, the school's image rest on their shoulders. many students study hard for good grades...tats gd but wad abt the attire? when they face the public, no one will noe how good a student they are cos the public dunno their grades in school. however, the way they wear their uniform portrays an impression on the general public.
i have seen top students in major exams being published in teh papers. their results r great!!! but the way they wear their uniform doesnt portray the right image of a top student. imagine foreigners reading abt them in the papers...wad wil they tink of our top students when they see the sloppy attire? if its ok to dress sloppily, then y have uniform? might as well wear anything u like. juz like poly n university. wearing the uniform makes u a representative of the school. if students wanna dress sloppily in uniform, then dun tell ppl u r PROUD of ur school. so hypocritical!!!
ppl say tat rules r meant to be broken...well if tats true...y shld our country have laws? no pt since they r meant to be broken -

No it doesn't. I don't even see why school with good result should even be equated with students that have good behaviour. Just because results is good doesn't mean i can't lie, cheat or fight. It just mean I know how to work the school system to get good results.
Equally, we cannot say that people with bad results are necessary bad, that they will steal and fight and do all sorts of bad things.
Also, what is an image of a good student? SO what if they dress slopply. Does that mean a good result student cannot have other dress sense. This is what is wrong with society i think, all too often people just look on the surface of stuff, ok here is a clean look smart looking person, handsome too and judge the person as good thou he may be a pevert or serial killer. A person who dress sloppily maybe be a genius. I feel that society placed too much emphasis on dress. If there is no such constraints, so much more resources can be saved if we don't need to wear tie or jacket, or leather shoes. Just what we feel comfortable in. -

What counts is your substance.Furthermore, students are students, does it hurt you to see them have a little way with creativity in how they wear their uniform?Does it cause you sleepless nights?

It affects the schools image

I know some of them fold up their skirt at the waist area to look like a mini. To get attention and show off their beauitful legs. In school, skirt has to be near the knee level but outside school.... in the middle of their thighs.

I personally feel that it is a very creative way of dressing for students to make something that everyone is wearing stand out in its own style. I used to do it too during my sch days and i certainly have no problems with it.

Firstly, the students have the right to choose how to wear their uniform after school. It doesn't matter how he/she wears it because ultimately it depends on his/her attitude and opinion about school. He/she will also be responsible for that act.
Secondly, you mentioned rules.... School rules only applies during school hours and events. But studying outside after school hours is NOT a school event! So how can the student be liable for that rule? Furthermore, that is his/her private life. If the school tries to control what they do outside school, then that might result in false imprisonment! -

I think dressing sloppily indeed is an offence to the school's image. However, it does exploit ur own image too. see how ugly or how ill-mannered u r with ur dressing styles.
How a person dresses can be judged by anyone who observes.
However, it's none of your school's business. But in order to learn to respect, which is a virtue, dun make urself so stand-out n 'act cool' by dressing so Sloppily for ur school. -

no they dun, they're forced to wear it.
so do u think they will want to wear it proudly??
so if schools dun want their image to be tarnished by students wearing uniforms sloppily, dun have uniforms!! simple isn't it?? or dun sew the school name on uniforms and dun force students to wear school badge.
That way wear sloppily maybe can jia huo to other schools whose uniforms look like the same. -

the public looks at the shirt itself, not how it's being dressed. if u see someone from "Laffles" tuck out their uni, would u think the sch reputation will be gone just like this? i believe how the students behave matters more than how they dress. scolding vuglarities, smoking, rowdy behaviours would reflect more on the poor image of the sch den how the students dressed. how about the sa students? u want them to tighten up their tie and looks like complete nerds or as the way is it now?
