our country is mroe organizedOriginally posted by sbst275:Now they are learning Chinese, Bahasa and English as part of the language lessons
Yet we here are only learning our Mother tongue and English
Even if you read today's evening papers, new police officers in Malaysian Police have to learn Chinese otherthan Arabic...
Are we losing to them?

thats the problem. it is only useful if you do business with them.Originally posted by sbst275:Useless?
You go across Causeway, dun you need it?
When you trade with Indonesians or ppl @ Brunei, you need it as well
No matter what, if we can communicate with them in simple Bahasa, at least communication can go easy...Originally posted by dragg:thats the problem. it is only useful if you do business with them.
online it is difficult even to find a dictionary for this language. internationally it is not commonly recognised. thought 'useless' is a bit exaggerated.
Losing just in terms of language. If we can survive with the 2 languages that we learn, we don't lose. If we can't survive, it's not that we didn't learn more languages, it's just that we can't use it. Our knowledge of languages are just half pail nia.Originally posted by sbst275:Now they are learning Chinese, Bahasa and English as part of the language lessons

how many actually knows what the National Anthem means word for word?Originally posted by sbst275:But we sing our National Anthem in Bahasa yet we dun speak them well... Isn't it funny?
But what pisses me off is that govt only willing to let elite to learn
Which actually comes to this, do many bother to go find it out?Originally posted by dragg:how many actually knows what the National Anthem means word to word?
Because elite are the ones leading us, not we are leading the elites.Originally posted by sbst275:But we sing our National Anthem in Bahasa yet we dun speak them well... Isn't it funny?

Learning languages should not be defined to one's IQ.... I am not in the eliest stream, yet I can speak Bahasa well.. It's just a matter of taking the iniaitive
Language have to apply it one mahOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Sigh....
Yes, we should take the initiative. I am learning it as well, but I can't speak it. Besides taking the initiative, we should apply it too. If like me, learn = never learn. I can't speak a proper despite learning for a few years.
that's just memorising the pronunciations rite. i can also sing a Jap song if u give me time.Originally posted by sbst275:But we sing our National Anthem in Bahasa yet we dun speak them well... Isn't it funny?
