n i dun think singapore has failed anything? Our govt is still nurturing the young now. if u have the money, go to america and learn all u want, but majority of others wont be as fortunate as u.

To be realistic is one thing. To compare is another. Comparing with other education system and not making changes to it isn't realistic. What is good? No system in this world is free from errors. Our education system produced many people who are good at theories, but bad at application. US education system produced people who aren't good at theories but excel in a particular field only. Switzerland tries to have a mixture of both, but are limited in talents because they target niche areas like watches, chocolates etc. Trying to have a system that fits everyone will be impossible. We tried to make it possible by making students study all kinds of subjects, from the sciences to the arts to the humanities. But does this help? -

by comparing with others, u see the gd n bad pts of them in certain areas. u may pin pt them, or u can be friendly, (if u know fully of how their culture n system is like), by giving ideas to them.
however, by comparing, yet u insist on following, adopting ideas which are somehow or rather unsuitable, tt's unrealistic. isnt it?
tt's y i'd say one has to be realistic when things cant change much. u cant force it. -

well said...tats y comparison in tis world is inevitable...i am nt saying tat america's system is perfect...there no perfect system in tis world cos no one is perfect...but i am saying tat if our system is nt flawed, y is our govt changing it? some ppl seem to suggest tat our system is perfect...but i dun blame them...i noe ppl like tat too in my life...they r usually the ones who r nt 'victims' of the system
