To be realistic is one thing. To compare is another. Comparing with other education system and not making changes to it isn't realistic. Comparing and making too many changes is not realistic either.
What is good? No system in this world is free from errors. Our education system produced many people who are good at theories, but bad at application. US education system produced people who aren't good at theories but excel in a particular field only. Switzerland tries to have a mixture of both, but are limited in talents because they target niche areas like watches, chocolates etc. Trying to have a system that fits everyone will be impossible. We tried to make it possible by making students study all kinds of subjects, from the sciences to the arts to the humanities. But does this help?
