Will porn be openly legalised in Singapore in near future?

Technology has made it impossible to be controlled much. In Japan, porn is a big money making industry. Singapore has no natural resource, and we are desperate to find new source income. Long time ago we never even thought building casinos will ever happen in Singapore. Will our society open up so much enough in near future that, we start a new industry? No one can tell for sure. But it will be a controversial topic with lots of up coming debate, should our government consider this. Just a thought.

sex trade is legalised in singapore, but very controlled.

there never was any law against the sex industry, as long as you're of age and willing to bear the consequences you'ree free to star in whatever movies u like.

Besides the gamblers themselves, how about the loansharks they borrow money from? The gangs they operate? The possible increase in robberies, thefts or even murders due to desperation in paying gambling debts?
Anyway the casino issue has been hotly debated to the ground and its off topic.
By the way, how many people do you think do not have access to porn be it illegal or otherwise? Anyone with an internet connection will have access to porn one way or the other.
I am not condoning the legalization of porn though, I am saying that going by the obvious fact that many people have internet at home, does that mean that the streets are now filled with gangs raping and molesting even as I typed this? -

Threadstarter has compared porn with gambling. Im not entirely convinced that they are the same or even comparable. It might be more acceptable to a society to build a big casino, but less acceptable to build a big brothel. Interestingly in Singapore there are already numerous brothels but they are under strict control and in a specially zoned designated area. So what more do you want to ask for? This already constitute a compromise/ legalization. -
I believe Soft Porn is fine, eg playboy.
Infact benefical to mens' health and thus society.
Research has shown that men who look at breeast everyday
have lower risk of heart attack.
Lets face it, its part of life.
When society is open to such,
there will be less tikopeh, molesters and rapers.
