If there is a list of long service voters, you can give long service awards to those in Hougang and Potong Pasir. Since day one had they no involved.Originally posted by charlize:The people at the top must be really sweating when they think the opposition will be contesting some of the important GRCs like Ang Mo Kio GRC.
What better way to divert opposition attention than by attacking the 2 current opposition wards?

I think it is the opposition is only out of respect to our PM Lee to contest in AMK. They sweated cause they are serving the residential and fellow singaporean harder now. It's a good thing isn't that.[/color]

It will be a black day in Singapore's history if there are no opposition members voted in during the coming elections.Originally posted by ObviousMan:My thinking is that the Opp parties should just leave CST and LTH to hold their respective forts and not be bothered too much by GCT. In terms of tactics, PAP's move is designed to exert pressure on the Opps --- they could have just quietly sent in GCT during the elections instead of making a big diversion beforehand.
But the move can backfire. Sun Zi said that if you surround an opponent completely, they will fight to death. In my view, the best strategy is for them to charge out fighting into the GRCs. Raise the ante by making the elections a national issue --- either vote them in or face the prospect of having no alternative voices. Bypass the NCMP scheme by rejecting it outright.
This is obviously bold and risky -- a win all or lose all, but there are several advantages:
--- Even without doing this, the opp are facing the threat of elimination.
--- Singaporeans might just vote to save the opposition and preserve an alternative voice.
--- It raises the elections to a national level (it already is if AMK is contested) since it will decide the political landscape of Singapore's future generation.
--- It will force Singaporeans to made a decision (aka seek people's mandate) whether they want an alternative voice and stop passing the buck, hoping someone somewhere else will vote for the opp.
--- If Singaporeans really do not want an alternative voice, all the opp can close shop, unhappy voters can migrate and the rest can live happily ever after.
In the first place, we should never have let the elections become a municpal issue.Originally posted by ObviousMan:My thinking is that the Opp parties should just leave CST and LTH to hold their respective forts and not be bothered too much by GCT. Getting lift can be convenient. It can be too convenient that elder or people like us that are walkable forgotable how to use leg..sighed...then condition of health deteriorated slowly unknowingly...Originally posted by LazerLordz:In the first place, we should never have let the elections become a municpal issue.
Parliamentary elections are nationwide, issues likewise. The time of the by-election strategy is gone, and hopefully, never to return. What we need is a full contest of ideas.
Singaporeans should stop passing the buck.Go and read up on current affairs and please do not vote blindly.Common sense is always better than some lifts.

Don't be misled by some move, some are false movement only.. real defence to buy time for defence enforcement only.
Serousiness questionable.. if you walk out and see again. (chinese saying "insider confused", look at the big map) Even opened door also can make them hestiate to come in.

Best defence is still attacking. Send some suicide trooper to the commander, the main force concentrate on the left wing will do.
Actually I enjoyed discussing on sun zi and other tactic but no here really.

Get from Goh, and contact me. Then I let you know.Originally posted by ObviousMan:Dun understand what you mean.
The options are limited for opposition parties as far as i am concerned.
Actually only 2 --- to concentrate on defense or focus on attack.
With Goh going to going in as a bully in a fair fight, his action actually works against him, much worse now he offered so much as though he is desperate.
Make no mistake, the real battle are in the GRCs, HG and PP are just staging ground. If the opposition can wrest 1 or 2 GRCs, the dynamics of the Singapore politics will change rapidly becasue GRCs are not as hemmed in as HG and PP. PAP will be foolish to employ the isolate opposition GRCs tactics because they will piss many more people.

so only those who want to sell get affected? That means the rental should be lower and so the retail shop prices lower and so the food and things they sell lower... not bad.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:go compare property resale prices
Suffering is an incorrect term.Originally posted by casino_king:Who says Potong Pasir residents are suffering? Not as if the PAP wards are getting free money everyday...
