One of the latest candidates, Sam Tan. I fully agreed and supported what he had mentioned about root, and those chinese proverbs that he mentioned.

University lecturer among three more candidates introduced by PAP
The People's Action Party has introduced its first university lecturer for the coming General Election.
He was one of 3 candidates presented on Tuesday bringing the total new PAP faces introduced to 21 so far.
They include 7 women candidates - matching the number fielded for the 2001 General Election.
38-year-old Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim is an Assistant Professor in the National University of Singapore, and also Programme Director for its Master of Science in Real Estate Programme.
The father of two is an active grassroots leader in several Punggol North groups and the Young PAP Chairman for the Northeast district.
Dr Muhammad Faishal is an estate management graduate from NUS and also has a Masters in that field.
He received his PhD from the University of Manchester.
Coming from the post-independence generation, he wants to do more for the young.
His focus will be to give the young more opportunities to maximise their potential, especially those from the Malay-Muslim community.
He said: "I came from neighbourhood schools. My parents were poor and my parents showed very good attitude to sustain the family. With a better platform, we can create an environment where this group would be able to find themselves and I hope to give them a platform and help to create an environment for them - a light at the end of the tunnel - to dare to dream."
Another post-independence candidate is 38-year-old Josephine Teo, a Human Resource Director with NTUC.
Before joining the labour organisation, Mrs Teo had worked at the Economic Development Board as well as A*STAR, Singapore's leading science and technology agency.
She is married with 3 children, and has helped raised funds for the SARS Relief Fund and also organised tsunami relief efforts.
Mrs Teo has an arts degree from National University of Singapore and a Master in economics from the London School of Economics.
She said she came forward because she wants to help shape the Singapore of tomorrow for future generations.
Mrs Teo said: "In 20-25 years when my children are of age, will they say to me: 'Mummy, we are very sorry but Singapore is just not a good place to stay, we are leaving, to pack our bags and go somewhere else'? Or, are they going to say: 'Mummy, Singapore has got many things going for it, there is room for improvement but we are staying for good, this is our best home'? These are the questions I care about."
43-year-old Lim Biow Chuan, who runs his own law firm, is the fifth lawyer on the PAP's new slate.
The father of 2 girls has been an active grassroots leader in the Jalan Besar area for more than a decade.
He also chairs the Jalan Besar ComCare Workgroup and is a member on the Public Transport Council.
Mr Lim is a law graduate from the National University of Singapore.
He wants to look at more ways to help two groups of people - the poor and middle-income groups.
He said: "During my time doing grassroots work, I have seen that those who are poor are really poor, they are not like people like us. They struggle to meet their daily needs, their meals are a problem and sometimes they have other problems like health. I would like to see how I can improve their lot."

Former HDB chief among new PAP candidates introduced
SINGAPORE : The People's Action Party will be fielding a total of 24 new candidates, including seven women, in the coming General Election.
Their average age is 40.3 years.
Two previous candidates, Eric Low and Sitoh Yih Pin, will be fielded again in Hougang and Potong Pasir, respectively.
The confirmed PAP slate was announced on Thursday as party chairman Lim Boon Heng introduced its final three candidates.
They include former HDB chief executive Lui Tuck Yew, the first Singapore Armed Forces scholar in the PAP line-up since 1997.
The first candidate introduced on Thursday, 30-year-old Christopher de Souza, is a lawyer with Lee & Lee, which he joined earlier this month.
Prior to that, he was with the Legal Service and had served as a Justice Law Clerk to former Chief Justice Yong Pung How and the Court of Appeal.
He married last year.
The second Eurasian candidate introduced by the PAP, Mr de Souza, volunteers with the Eurasian Association and Mendaki.
He has a First Class Honours in Law from King's College London, and a Master's of Law from Oxford University.
The second candidate is 47-year-old Tan Chin Siong, executive director of the Chinese Development Assistance Council.
He is married with two daughters and one son.
Mr Tan, who began his career in the People's Association, has been active in community work for the last 10 years, and has served on various committees.
The recipient of a Public Service Medal, Mr Tan is an arts graduate from the National University of Singapore.
The third candidate, 44-year-old Rear-Admiral Lui, resigned as chief executive of the Housing and Development Board earlier this week to stand for election.
His previous high-profile appointments include CEO of the Maritime and Port Authority, as well as Chief of Navy, where he introduced its fleets of submarines and frigates.
Rear-Admiral Lui is married with two daughters.
The science graduate from Cambridge University also has a Master's in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the US. - CNA /ct
