The question is not so much if a "Democracy is good for a big country like India, or even a small country like Singapore" - when the question should be "how the country and - or its people - is familiar with the functions and concepts of Democracy" ?
Comparing India with China - both are vast countries with a huge population, the educated that form the ELITE in the respective countries have existed in two different systems - one in a Democratic System, and the other in a Communist System.
Unfortunately both countries faced corruption despite both taking different paths in their political development for their respective countries, and having different economic priorities with their economic plans.
In a Democracy such as India, corruption can easily be exposed, while in China some whistle-blowers have been jailed while the perpetrators remain scot-free.
Is Democracy good for any country ?
It depends on how you and I have been molded into which kind of PROPAGANDA, how each of us have been brought up in which environment, and how we see the past, the present, and what we expect of the FUTURE with the past and present system of Government.
