Why are foreign students entitle to S'pore Education grants?

I think to reply the redundent rants of the Poly student (thisismyaccount) is of no consequence. He claims to be talent while he finds himself in a poly... no disrespect towards poly students, but how can u call urself talent when u dont even play on the highest plane of ur field?
To be a top student in a backward village is of no consequence to me. Try growing up in singapore baby competition here is rife.
I think most singaporeans will agree with me mwhen i say we are at best disgusted and indifferent to the medal sweep at the commonwealth games.
As a "top talent" poly student, thisismyaccount fails to realise that what he sees on tv isnt really wht people think. Media manipulation of "public" opinion is obviously as rife here as in is in the forigner's 3rd world countries.
The thing is, the discussion has been misdirected....what we are trying to discuss is the needless allocation of educational instutional spaces to forigners. We also wanna adress why the goverment sees a need to subsidise the education of forigners. -

I had welcome foreigner however I stated the fact that a foreigner so-called "talent" should compete with our local talent for scholarship and not grant. SAF, President, LKY's scholar..so many..
We welcome foreigner to be here for the reason that they spending their parent's money on fee on lodging, etc. I recalled such incidents after someone mentioned "grant to foreigner", can tell you a lot of parent still "blur blur". 5 degree earthquake if they happened to know the full details. -

Ah yes... but our point is that subsidies should be the right of a citizen and not just anybody. If you do have talent u should be able to qualify for anyone of our numerous scholorships. If you aren't happy that foreigners won medals for us, then don't watch the Games. They came here either willingly or unwillingly, either for money or really doing it for us. -

i have seen student won best achievement in 1st year but never get DWM in the end. guess they are too complacent n strew up during their IA due to their poor interpersonal skills. -
