My constitutency has been in PAP's hands for too long and the PAP has been getting rather complacent. You don't even know who your MPs are. ...it might be a good idea to vote in an Opposition Party member for a few years just to wake them up. Then vote PAP again when they give out the goodies -
Most likely the PAP will win back potong pasir and hougang as the opposition couldn't really give much benefits to the commoners even if they try to...As their resort and funds are simply too limited.

Some forumnites downplay the upgrading issue but I think it will be an important consideration. The government has all but guarantee that they will upgrade the estate and give all sorts of goodies to Potong Pasir as long they they vote PAP.

PAP will win back if there are enough shallow-minded voters who care more for comforts of life (lift stops at every floor) rather than a parliament with opposition.

quite unlikely... the opposition MPs in these two wards have established a strong rapport with the residents there over the years and they have set themselves apart and shown that they do voice out and fight for the people's interest.
besides, the pap candidate they have for PP is a fool (my own opinion).
anyway, the new single wards would be interesting to watch... given that this foolish statement of upgrading has ticked off quite some people who see it as underhanded blackmail. I certainly do...

Mr Eric Low and Mr Situ had lost two times in the general election. (I hoped I am right about it). SM and PM treasured them, should considered putting the 2 of them in other GRC so that they enter politic easily and perform their talents.
Remember the talented Ministers, Minister of National Development, Mr Mah Poh Tan and Minister of State, Mr Heng Chee How. Both had lost in GE before, and were subsequently nominated to other GRC and entered into the government. Mr Mah and Mr Heng had performed well indeed and everyone of us can see their achievements.
Hence, PM and SM should considered sending Mr Eric Low and Mr Situ to GRC so that singaporean have chance to gain from their performance.
On the other hands, PM and SM may considered seriously to send 2 ministers to contest with Mr Low TK and Chiam ST since they are no doing anything great for singaporean.
Let us have the chance to see Mr Eric and Mr Situ's contribution and treasure their talent. Hence, seriously send them to GRC so that singaporean got more chance to have their performance. -

We give our ministers far too much credit by thinking they have run their constituencies beyond reasonable doubt.
There are certainly disgruntled people, true supporters and swing voters in each GRC and SMC. Who's to say that by nudging the campaign towards a certain direction and capitalizing on several weaknesses, you cannot pull off a coup?
Take AMK for example. The promised new air-conditioned bus terminus has been taking ages to complete. The road system in the area around AMK central is consistently full of road works and LTA / URA seem to be digging forever in random spots, making a mess of the HDB areas and to top it all, the Ruling party's GRC members (besides LHL) hardly emerge from their tortoise shell to conduct walkabouts.
Is this a one-man GRC team? Have we mistaken GRC teams with ministers for MINISTER-only GRC teams?
With the right campaign and displaying of facts, there is every chance such GRC 'fortresses' can be turned into 'fair game' for potential challengers. Even Low Thia Khiang mentioned that the WP may contest AMK to 'give PM LHL a strong mandate'.
That should be the right approach to derail an arrogant ruling party. -

He wasn't able to foresee the over supply of HDB flats.

I have a question here, in a GRC there are 5 PAP candidates, and i only like 3 of them, the other 2 I dont like, so how to vote, do i still vote PAP , I think they must limit GRC to 3 candidates, like the jury, 3 persons so we can make decision, if we like 3 of them then vote PAP, if u dont like 1 of them then vote opposition or spoil the voteOriginally posted by lotus999:Mah Boh Tan performed well??
