What happened to Punggol 21?
A few years back, I thought there were big plans to develop that area to a really nice place.
Anybody living there that can shed some light on what's been happening?

Or is it because Hougang happens to be pretty close to Sengkang and Punggol?

i think the flats take up rate is too disheartening to talk abt that beautiful plan liao.

i have a friend who booked a flat there for his marital home but by the time he got the flat he already suffered a paper loss of $60,000! He eventually declined his new flat and bought a resale one in a matured estate that has all the amenities. -

There was also that pipe-dream of the "SWISS STANDARD OF LIVING", which ffiiiizzzz out with the passing of GCT - from PM into SM - but straddling Singaporeans with the reality of a "SWISS COST OF LIVING" .
There was also that pregnant "full of HOPE" claim for Singaporeans to be proud as being a "FIRST WORLD" country - loudly celebrated in LKY's memoirs.
Somehow along the way through FORTY YEARS, there was a very quiet miscarriage, and the pregnant "HOPE" was never mentioned ever again.
Did our Elite remember their Third World Mentality to quietly abandon the claim to be a member of the FIRST WORLD COMMUNITY ?
All these incredibly fancy claims ARE SIMILAR to the GREAT SHOWPIECE seen in the Handicap Car Park lots that are found at each HDB block.
These Handicap Car Park Lots serves to taunt the non-handicap drivers with a 24 HOUR EMPTY LOT that cannot be used by anyone, as no handicap can ever hope to find any job that pays well enough to be able to afford a car designed and LTA approved for handicaps.
These Handicap Car Park lots serves only to show the World that the MP, his Town Council and the HDB - all have bleeding hearts to remember the needs of the handicap to provide a car park lot for the handicap.
Somehow the concern stops there, and it is not the MPs' concern if the economy and Singapore Society can employ handicaps with wages that can support the handicap, and which can help the handicap to buy that car to fill up that car park lot and enoy all that is available in the FIRST WORLD.
Meanwhile, those who are not handicap will have to park three blocks away even if that SINGLE empty lot is available and right next to the lift lobby of their block.
What does this say of the ABLE MINDED THINKERS from the Ruling Political Party, who claimed to have all the best and available SINGAPOREAN TALENTS in their team ?
What shall we expect from the ambitious Integrated Resorts plans ?
Is it any wonder that these are left to be developed by Private Enterprises, and in the hands of FOREIGNERS ?
Will the INTEGRATED RESORTS come into being, and according to the standard comparable to the same facilities found in Foreign Countries - when the Ruling Elites imposes so many of their 'wishy-washy' conditions onto the Private Enterprises ?
Will the Ruling Elite learn to allow the brilliance from other sources to shine, so that their own brilliance is not perceived to be a "flash in the pan" ?
