Wa such a tape should be included as part of the political history lessens in schools for more objective education of students so that beside the national pledge and other praises of the first-generation leaders they too will be able to appreciate the struggles and sacrifices necessary to bring about a whole socially and culturally vibrant country in the future which will be participated by all.

I have often felt he is some sort of renegade, a mad fellow, but now having seen this video, I feel I have been badly misled. He is not standing for coming election, so I think its fair for me to discuss about him.
That incident with PM Goh in the market, what Chee said was when he asked "Mr Goh where is the money?". Mr Goh actually was pointing to his own pocket. Now that was'nt reported in the papers or TV. Is Chee telling the truth? Well, he has not been sued or challenged for that statement...was the media or press biased and not telling everything as it happened ?.
While I don't agree with Chee's style of fighting the Government, I now have a better understanding of him, admire his stand on freedom of speech, freedom to gather where you like to discuss politics.
I guess its hard for any opposition to win any election here with Singaporeans being so conditioned to obey without questioning.
Last nite I heard we cannot blog or post election matters in any websites.
Strange thing for a powerful and popular political party to do.
Why all these last minute restrictions? -

It's only sad if everyone does'nt care about our country. The fact that you care and want to see changes for the better is already good news
I think only time will tell what our country's political system will evolve into in the future, but I expect after 2026, Singapore General Elections will finally be a level playing field, and open to all to participate - without the fear factor and prejudice.
If you are an aspiring young opposition politician, best thing to do now is -
be patient.
Dont say stupid and unverifiable things that may cost you your political life.

I think its hardly fair to blame the imdividual policeman on the ground. They are just doing their jobs. The culpable ones are the senior commanders and the politicians that passed the legislation concerned.
Anyway, aside from the political merits of the documentary, part of me is glad that it was not shown at the film festival because as a film, it is decidedly abysmal. -

Whilst I agree this video presentation was not Oscar award standard, I hope we all get the point. And do contemplate on it's main essence.
All the modern comfortable trappings planned by the Government for us has a purpose, I think - it is to ensure we become 'politics complacent'. And I know it is working for them.
Dont your agree, looking at the big picture that we are livng under an oppressive system. This is troubling my conscience.
Why am I so spineless and apathetic about the political decay that has gone on for so long?
How are Singaporeans going to grow up with a freedom to choose and change. We can make alot of noises but most will never be heard.
Are we not mere 'slaves' of the Emperor, Singapore style?
Who reaps the fruits of our labour most? Think for a moment on this point. Yes, we all look well off, HDB houses, cars, overseas holidays, beautiful buildings and upgradings. But who is really making all the money in the end - and who are the strugglers and losers?
I am sure some of you can relate this sort of governance to other past dictatorial regimes that have since been sacked by its enslaved citizens. -

i don't think the film was terrible, it was supposed to be like blair witch kind of effect. is chee a raving mad man as potrayed by the local media or this sane passionate democracy advocate as seen in the clips?
one thing i am aware is that nus sacking is absurb...his then boss, vasoo actually took a cab to find 'evidence' that he has overclaimed by a couple of bucks...this is ridiculous.... -
Is easy to understand why some singaporeans hated CSJ. Reason very simple, is becos the media and newspaper kept showing the bad and mad side of him on tv (the one which he is on a lorry with his group shouting at one of the market place whereby GCT was oso there). It is time we continue to send a message to the ruling regime to
STOP PUSHING US TO A TINY CRAMPED CORNER !
What we are asking now is more space, more individual rights to blog or post anything in the internet post or pre-election. The government does not own www.
I will also expect the Government lowering the high cost of living after the elections.
One time free handout isnt enough to win our loyalty.
Our country's economy has globalised, and so must the outdated mentality of our older leaders! -

The film portrays Chee as a 'hero', but really, if they had done it for Chiam or Low or eveN JBJ, it will be a better one. -
