What if LKY dies?

If Lee Kuan Yew die of old age, or becomes senile, or retires from the political scene for any other reason, what changes can we expect with respect to govt policy?
Or will there be NO CHANGE since no one has the standing to interfere with his policies?
Will Singapore collapse for lack of a man of his abilities?
Is his son his equal?
Pray tell............ -
the govt will save a lot of money from paying his wages

If one day he is gone, then it will be a big test for his son. At the moment i feel that singapore are still very much in the ownership of LKY. I believe he is making all the decision at the back stage. I don't think his son will be as good as him, GCT will properly be install as LSL adviser once LKY is gone.

Without LKY there is still GCT, but without both of them, singapore sure become weaker. Did anyone here saw LSL in germany? He is so blur to have walk so fast without waiting for angel merkel. LOL

He will meet with Tunku Abdul Rahman, Hussein Oon, Syed Albarr, Tun Razak, Lee Siew Choh AND all the other Political Rivals that have gone ahead of him - and they will have the GRAND DEBATE OF A LIFETIME - all looking back at the last FORTY ODD YEARS of the development of Malaysia and Singapore.
It will be the greatest debate of all the "WHAT IFs...." and "I have proven it..." and "I TOLD YOU SO..... " -
A truly great leader does not cause so many problems as posted in the "20 major policy errors in another thread" or the dropping wages and the high costs of living or loss of social and economic vibrancy.
His meritocracy policy has only achieved limited success with a lot of minuses due to his failure or delays in recognizing his old policies have failed to work for years. Ngiam Tong Dow has given much opinion about this aspect of his shortcomings from the insider perspective.
Greatness of a leaders should be measured by performance but look again, has our economic restructuring succeeded? Have we succeeded in other areas apart from claims by the leaders. Have we become more competitive from attaining a value-adding technology-driven model.
So what are people talking about when they mention his achievements. I think he has done well as a leader up to 1970s but beyond that he has lost touch with the ground and unable to mobilize the masses. -

WIth the way LKY have been ruling Singapore these years and the way things are encouraged such that the nation segregates into differing 'layers' (rich + powerful & poor + helplessness) and the people and government is not of one... Things might just stay in its UGLY MUDS for quite a while unless some DRASTIC is DONE...
And yet to add... Pardon me, but I really fail to see how Singapore is a democratic society... Based on JUSTICE and EQUALITY...?

Singapore's President is like backup. If PM is corrupted, President got power to remove him and rule temporary. During this period, elections for new PM will be coming up.
