But honestly... The part about the offenders being escorted back... That is more like a fantasy instead of reality and it is very unlikely that it will ever happen.

For example that poor Australian guy that was hanged... He is an Australian but was under the mercy of Singapore Law because he is in Singapore territory and despite being a Australian citizen; the Australia's legal system and law would not have a binding effect.
Likewise if lets say a Singaporean is legally staying in Australia( maybe he has a Australian passport and citizenship by birth ) then he is under the mercy of the Australian legal system and the "law" from Singapore is not legally binding... Unless Singapore makes that Australia part of her own sovereign territory which to me, that is highly unlikely. -

However the young fellow a boy is just turning 14 and required to have a permit to be OUT-of-Singapore. and so when they come back, will the little fellow get arrested at the check point in Changi? please give answer seriously and don't Joke here..

The new Enlistment Act which was passed on 3rd April 2006 requires all male Singapore citizens and Permanent Residences of age 13 and above to apply for an Exit Permit from Mindef if they are planning to go overseas for 3 months or longer.
Therefore that boy who is 14 will be required to apply for an exit permit if he is planning to stay overseas for 3 months or longer. If his application is successful, then everything will be fine. However, if he does not apply for the exit permit and continues to stay overseas for more than 3 months; then he and his parents have commited an offence in which both parents would be fined to a maximum of S$2000.
Regarding him being arrested at Changi, I do not think that will happen. But what I am sure is that his parents would be fined.

but seriously...its the government who understands the need of NS, a credible deterrent force, what have you....but not those people behind you at the queue at macdonalds, or the lady standing beside you on the bus, the list goes on -

It's the point of wasting resources, Singapore got enough reserves, $10,000 is nothing compared to the amount of reserves that we had.
Ultimately, should look at serving NS is our duty and a pride to carry out the duties. -
