Well, The Ruling Party PAP is now very obviously worried.Originally posted by LinYu:I think they had run out of idea to criticise the oppositions and will take every opportunity to criticise them for any little thing the opposition say or did.
CST is only interested in PP only
LKT is out to score political points

If there is no GRC, clamp down on freedoms of expressions in the newspapers and the media, there would be more talented people coming forward to serve the country.Originally posted by king108:Wonder if they would applied performance based wage package on themselves. If they earned for singapore say US$1200B a year. the 4 millions of us shared US$1000B. The US$200B give to them as their performance wages.
But if they don't earn US$1200B, they get nothings..No basic please.
Performance as the measurement. Good?![]()
That is perhaps the underlying reason for the opposition to delay the unveiling of their candidates till the last possible moment: to give the PAP less time to smear dirt and slant viewers as to the credibility of candidates.Originally posted by LinYu:What do they know about fairness?
Evey new candidate they introduced are competent, non-conformist and self sacrifice who will be paid as "Ministers" or post in GIC linked companies.
Every opposition candidate needs to be scutrinised from flesh to bone to proof thier competency and cleaniness. Every opposition candidates "must have ulterior motive" to stand as opposition party.
That is their belief![]()

I read with amusement the comments from both Rear Adm Teo Chee Hean (ST 31 Mar 06) and Mr Wong Kan Seng regarding the unveiling of candidates (below):
Time to show hand opposition parties
In them the general argument was that it would be "unfair to the voters" if the opposition waited till polling day to reveal their candidates.
Mr Wong also showed brazen arrogance in brushing aside comments made by Mr Low Thia Khiang as merely out to 'score political points', instead of addressing them altogether, a trait more and more apparent and frequently practiced when members of the Ruling party prefer to sidestep critical landmines.
He further commented that Steve Chia raised 'many issues and questions, butnone of significance which would change the lives of Singaporeans.' In one sweeping statement, he completely ignored the questions Steve Chia raised on the national reserves, which i think concern ALL SINGAPOREANS and are HIGHLY SIGNIFICANT.
Mr Wong Kan Seng must be living on Mars if he thinks such issues are of no consequence to Singaporeans.

Why didnt they ask the new PAP candidates who their favourite Opp. MP or candidate is.

The Straits Times today allocated space to introducte the SDA's candidates, taking special care to mention that one of the candidates: Dr Yeo, had previously participated in politics with Chee Soon Juan and was part of the team that much-maligned Goh Chok Tong during the last campaign. Fortunately, he made an apology and was not named as a defendant in the subsequent defamation suit.
It sounds like a deliberate attempt to start the candidate on the wrong foot and publicly discredit him. The impartial reporting of news and information, so-claimed by SPH, seems to be lost in the wind.
