Self Help? yeah right..

I just have to start this after hearing what LKY said about how singaporeans should emulate the American trait of self help.
But unlike Americans who get together and set up their own international schools, Singaporeans write to their government and say 'please set up such schools for us
Has he forgotten who it was who started not just schools but a university (i.e. Nanyang Uni)?? and then who later ripped it apart and now trying to sew back..
after all the years of making everyone depend on the govt for this and dat and qwelling the slightest chance of dissent, he say now we dun self help?
haha.. wat a joke.. if we band up and do things for our own. .i wonder will it be a threat to our internal security under the ISA. -

He had really damaged our peoples reputations and insulted us that badly to the world. Our peoples should wake up to tell him that do not belittle us anymore and show him there are many alternatives besides his arrogant leadership. -
Well it's like, they want to do everything, and then blame us for being dependant on them.
They should first take a look at all the RESTRICTIONS, RULES, and LIMITATIONS they put in place, before stating that we dare not or have no initiative to start things up on our own.
Look, even expressing views and opinions are under supervision!

My friend tried to help herself at the age of 60, by approaching the CPF for her money to control her Diabetes and Hypertension, what did the CPF tell her?
"Wait till it gets worst, and you bed-ridden then come apply again."
WTF!!!!!

The government don't even allow us to take care of our health!
And just only recently, the Minister of Health said we can now use our Medisave to PARTIALLY pay for common outpatient ailments like Diabetes. Isn't this coming a liitle late, and just around election time????
I know this is not a Welfare country, but for God's sake, allow us people to address our medical conditions with our own money before it gets worst.

Truth be told, Lee Senior did much for the country. No one can begrudge that.
But the longer he stays in office, sprouting senile comments like this, the more harm he does to his own reputation and that of singapore. I can imagine the possumbottoms of the old guard whom Lee Senior asked to step aside to make way for young blood.
Surely they must be wondering when he will retire and give up his seat.

Not to forget, A lonely person with diabetes cannot work well and the medication will cripple him up.. Why not just allow they to take all? Or the govt take care of them?
