SINGAPORE : Any public transport fare increases this year will only be effected in October, instead of in July.
This is because the Public Transport Council has deferred the annual fare revision exercise by three months.
The deadline for public transport operators to submit their applications for fare revision was to have been May 2.
Any fare adjustment, if approved, would then be effected on July 1.
But the council has decided to defer this year's exercise.

Aiya.. it's so obvious; they'd wait till election is over, and PAP has won again as usual, then comes the fare hikes and whatever hikes that usually always comes after you elected them.

I have not seen any improvement in transport service as promised during the last fare increase.
Is the PTC useful in monitoring and justifying the fare increase or they are just a paper tiger ?
What about all the MPs candidate promise in bringing down the transport cost ?
Is the pathetic Singaporeans alway a victims for corporate profitability ??? -

And we just keep coughing up more and more, year after year.....
Commuters still get no seats during peak hours, trains are still packed like a very long can of sardines, and cabs still play the waiting game. -
Some things are being run poorly and the way to make up their losses or profits is to open their mouth and get more from the public.

Not only will transport fares increase, later utility bills will also go up.
The usual excuse will be high oil price or high operating costs.
Later everyone will follow- the hawkers, carpark operators etc- neverending, that's why cost of living is going up but our salary/CPF still unchange -

Lets be fair, give credit when it's due, at least the PAP is consistent in this area....... BEFORE election...withhold all bad news or delay hikes, AFTER election...You Die Is Your Own Business, remember NO FREE LUNCH!

In tune with their slogan, believe the PAP will be fair to all Singaporean, no worry citizens.
Come October, if public transport fares is going up, rest assure that COE and ERP will be up too.
The only mode of transportation that is not affected will be WALKING, i guess so.
Or PAP will also up the fine amount for jaywalking???? -

All they ever do is hike fares.
Whay don't they start HIKING Service Standards and Efficiency???
Shuttle bus services are always jam-packed, or wait long time for your number to come. Bus drivers are still bluddy rude and inconsiderate.
Is it worth the fares we are paying??? -
