what's ur view then?Originally posted by grandeur:Elections walk over means PAP have mandate? What's ur view?
Agree with you. Even in a walkover, residents in that consitutuency should still get to vote just like in the Thai system. Have two ballot boxes with one marked as "NO VOTE" and the other as "*** Party" where *** is the name of the party. Only then can we gauge the % of support for the party.Originally posted by Cens:They should hold a "confidence" vote in a walkover GRC. That's the only way to gauge and show how much support they really have, rather than think just because there's no competition that means everyone likes me.
Non contested consituency to clasify as the ruling party strong mandates ?Originally posted by Glimmerman:Agree with you. Got Elected President meh? As far as I can recall there was only one election and even then, only people deemed "worthy" by a "select" committee are allowed to compete.Originally posted by FireIce:we have an ELECTED president oredi wat
wat do u say?
My view is no body elects doesn't mean that they really support the ruling party or the oppostion parties. It is because people feel that they are left with no choice. Elections walk over really can't determine mandate of any parties.Originally posted by tiggersgd:what's ur view then?
then let the oppositions field their candidates and contest in every single wards n GRCs, if there's any (gd) oppositions in the first place. perhaps u want to join in the opposition ranks when you are ready?Originally posted by grandeur:My view is no body elects doesn't mean that they really support the ruling party or the oppostion parties.
