Don't think they will lose.Originally posted by RSP:East Coast GRC is spearheaded by DPM Jayakumar.
We're not even sure if there will be opposition parties contesting for it..Haven't had to vote for quite some time..
Bookies?Originally posted by Terence Chooi:Anyone knows the bookie's odds for the PAP to win in East Coast GRC this time round?
The intellectuals and the educated rich are not that fond of the PAP, from my pov. The civil servants..now that's a different kettle of fish .Originally posted by anonymouscoward:Thinking that PAP will loose East Coast just because of a flood is ludicrous. Then again, WP Chia is a school mate and therefore, I should vote for him
Btw.. East Coast GRC does have many rich but most of the rich do not support PAP. Take StandChart Khoo and UOB Wee for example. Look what the government did to Khoo's daughters and expect the same when Wee pass on.
In addition, East Coast GRC has alot of middle income earners... the forgotten clan that earns a lot but not enough, owns a lot but all on mortgages, pays a lot of tax but get zero benefits ("read progress package").
I think WP has a good chance, their latest candidate line up is impressive. Can't say much for SDA and I think we can forget about SDP.
Chew Heng Ching? Isn't he that construction magnate's son?Originally posted by googoomuck:A friend of a friend of my friend's friend lives in Bedok. There was one election when MP Chew Heng Ching won 53% of the votes. So one of out of every two living there is a supporter of PAP.
When it became part of East Coast GRC, it was walkover for PAP.

Ya... that's a good enough reason to vote them out liao. Why haven't they done anything about the congestion!??! It's congested 24/7 one. tamadeOriginally posted by mistyblue:I wish they had build all these train lines instead cause the feeder service along Bedok Reservoir sucks esp when its near Ubi/Kaki Bukit/Chai chee. The roads are always congested.
The only prob is that cars, esp premium brand car drivers refuse to give way to busesOriginally posted by Honeybunz:Ya... that's a good enough reason to vote them out liao. Why haven't they done anything about the congestion!??! It's congested 24/7 one. tamade
give way also doesn't solve the congestion problem. At Ubi that side, there are as many buses/vans/trucks as the cars. They move slowly due to the max speed limited.Originally posted by sbst275:The only prob is that cars, esp premium brand car drivers refuse to give way to buses
If they give way to the buses, at least the bus can move... All these are unecessary delays to busesOriginally posted by Honeybunz:give way also doesn't solve the congestion problem. At Ubi that side, there are as many buses/vans/trucks as the cars. They move slowly due to the max speed limited.
Widening the road or build more flyovers will probably help. I see the gahmen already did that for Serangoon and Clementi areas. Ubi/kaki Bukit/Bedok Reservoir side so populated and that area has a lower priority in having the problem fixed.
