I also think so.Originally posted by hisoka:maybe they will disqualify the opposition and prevent them from contesting first. or maybe outlaw the opposition rallies....
its a sat on may 6, cannot claim back on following mon, so whats the point...Originally posted by Gordonator:may 6th will be a public holiday. good news for those working 6 days every week.![]()

it is logical to make election on a saturday so majority of the people working on 5 days week can vote.Originally posted by Ah Cek:companies on 5 days week shall be compensated a day off right? subject to company policy of course.
okok, this not important. important thing is next thurdays. see who will contesting against who.Originally posted by Gordonator:it is logical to make election on a saturday. that's very so majority of the people working on 5 days week can vote.
i'm saying it's good news only for those working 6 days. u who are already working 5 days shouldn't ask for makeup holiday claim.![]()

Currently I'm more CONCERN if it's possible for them to come up with any 'cheating tactics' during the VOTING....Originally posted by Gordonator:i'm curious to know whether PAP will break their record win of 75.3% of the votes in the last election.
Like police have powers to disperse the crowds ??Originally posted by Devil1976:Currently I'm more CONCERN if it's possible for them to come up with any 'cheating tactics' during the VOTING....
Orh........Originally posted by gd4u:Like police have powers to disperse the crowds ??
the tide has been like this for the past year.Originally posted by Devil1976:As much as I feel MANY are LOOKING FORWARD to the VOTINGS, I must say PAP ain't stupid either... They've already got the plans set out...
1. Considering the way the tide is turning, dragging to a longer time would probably means more opposition supporters.. That's why NOW...
2. All the 'packages' have been given out.
3. All 'bad news' on halt.
4. 'Surveying' the market, it seems like most people against the ruling parties are of the younger generations. It seems like they still have very much supporters from the middle-age and older folks (which probably don't even know what's going on....).
5. Singapore is becoming populated by the aged majority and with a decline of the younger generations. Can you GUESS what kinda result that would yield you?
6. For things to really 'turn over', it'll probably be a few elections later... But there could be 'signs' for now... If SLOW but GRADUAL winning of the oppositions take place, things can still slowly go in check and tides being turned over. If not, I fear for the day that the aged have passed and the 'freshier' generation take over would be too late for much 'mild' resistance to things... Then again, we might just have other things to worry about by then...?
Probably me, but I'm hoping the Workers' Party will contest here, I'm not too impressed with the SDP.Originally posted by Gordonator:1st time voter here. so exciting. anyone else?![]()
