why mayor? our MP are already paid 10k/mth and they should spent more time on the grassroot not just wed or fri night to meet ppl talk cock sing song. or when election come, dance , shake hand , eat with grassroots or residents.
they work for us? i still think we are working for them but they get paid 1,5 millions/year. i cant even earn 1.5 million in my whole life if my yearly income is $40k.

Have we overlooked something here? What is public service? What is the purpose of public service? Why are we according private sector wages as a comparison? With respect to the ministerial renumeration, what is their job function? Does it equate to the package accorded them? Personally, it bring forth that line from JFK, "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country". A credo which I find missing in this context.
