The point I tried to make is that during the financial crisis, many many many head of companies made money, more money than before the crisis. As such, with the understanding that we equate Minister's pay to the pay package of these people, we should follow through in good times as well as in bad times. Fair right? At work, we abide by contracts signed, so... while we can cry about it, we still have to agree with contracts right?
Back to CSJ. I do not see him as a salesman, I think he is seeking fame and perhaps fortune, through his own means. He is NOT doing anything good for us, Singaporean.
With regards to the ministerial salary, from WHOSE understanding are we supposed to accept?
Was it ever decided by parliament or by the people? Or was it conveniently benchmarked to top executives in top companies by a
select elite?
In that case, shouldn't they be rightly evaluated on the dollar value of such
TOP EXECUITIVES?
If they take a pay cut, but restore it before they have improve the economy, how then do they justify their pay restoration vs the people?
What have they done to
earn their hefty salaries?
And on your point that
many many many head of companies made money, more money than before the crisis. , perhaps you can list down your laundry list of companies you claim to have made it big during this period?
