if u ask me what he done for the area, i can say this: he managed to close dowon the seletar market/ hawker centre. thats all.

I have many friends and relatives staying in AMK and they already told me their choice clearly.
More over Uncle Norey is rushing back from Vancover to add-up his family vote slips to supports.
Let WP increase more seats in 2006 GE, I'm hoping to see Madame Sylvia Lim Swee Lian has her greatest potential becoming our Singapore First Lady Prime Minister by the next GE. -
I applaud LTK for a very good strategy, typically Sun Zi Bin Fa - use your weakest team to fight against the strongest team of the opponent and use your strongest team to fight against the 2nd tier team of the opponent.
1. Anything less than 70% will be considered a failure for LHL
2. The WP team has nothing to lose, the candidates are so young they can afford to lose 1 or 2 GEs and gained experience from there.
As for Aljunied GRC, I expect to see a very close fight. PAP is very serious that they pull one of their strongest woman candidate over and the team has no new faces. I hope the fight will be gentlemanly and no dirty tricks used.
LKY / LHL has repeatedly said they have found the best candidates the country can offer and I think they can afford to lose 1 foreign minister and find a replacement easily. Although the PAP team are more experienced, I think it's better to have 5 full time MPs serving the GRC than 5 part time MPs. -
If the WP's aim of given the AMK residents a choice and generously offering PM Lee the chance to get a strong mandate (or a weak one), is mocked by some as 'play play', then i guess the political maturity of some people is really that of 'gutter' standards. Are you familiar with the govt's SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME, where young upstarts in the 20-something and 30-something range, unseat the older, more experienced 40-something lao jiaos?
Or perhaps you fall under the catagory of 'senior stereotype' who thinks that only a 30-something has the mental capacity to stand as a candidate?
In that case, you best be on your 'hoildaying way'. -
I just wanna say I'm ecstatic that there is FINALLY a chance for me to vote! I was thinking there would be probably no contest because of PM Lee's presence in AMK GRC.
But got to know the WP candidates before making a decision. A guaranteed chance to vote anyway!
I seriously wonder if it would affect the progress of the upgrading in my neighbourhood in anyway... hmm... -

If you ask me what to make of that article, its only about upgrading issues, not the election. Its a simple message that tells you, vote opposition sayonara upgrading. But I'm pretty glad the opposition has made it clear, if you're only after upgrading, pls vote pap. -

The reason they send these young people down is probably because they have potential to become leaders of tomorrow. So now they are taking the chance to let the voters in AMK to know them first, so by the next election they wouldn't be some mysterious figure who pops out from nowhere. Another reason is probably to show the whole of Singapore if they are satisfied with what the PM have done since he took over. Since majority of the west side won't be contested, it cant show how much support the government have from the Singaporeans, therefore its kind of unbalanced. Thus contesting in AMK GRC would probably be the only way to let the public know how much support and faith they have with the PM.

These are typical theifs behavour, who take things without consents from all the peoples suppose to live in the democratic system society.
So, you may called it "Walkover President" at this moment, and if the Oppositions failed again this 2006 GE, there might considering the "Walkover PM" strategies as soon to prepare for the next GE.
Our Oppositions must get in and prevent all these dominated governance and prevent them in dynast governing. -
the guy leading the WP fight against the PM at AMK, is an former Jurong Junior Colleage student councillor. My senior. I think i am going 2 pity him a lot. 1st time stand for election, kenna push 2 the lion's den. Then when kenna thrash, dunno face where hide.

WP contesting for AMK grc, is not for the win at all. Its just a strategic move for the future to come, and alot more other things.
