if AMK GRC lost to opposition, opposition might or might not win, then will the amk central renovation all go into standstill ?? later maybe WP continue the project anyway it is half way done
if not next GE when PAP come back then complete the whole thing in time

I wonder why would the WP want to contest in AMK. Like the last GE with JBJ and LKY, failure is not an option for LHL. I bet my life savings that LHL will not loose this ward, by hook or by crook.
Why didn't they contest in MarineParade? GCT is not a formidable candidate and they should have a higher chance there. -
Contesting AMK is opposition's way of testing the market, a survey if you want to put it technically, they're not out to win AMK in any case. But pap sure got a bit of played out after the final candidate positions were announced yesterday.

Assuming you earn more than $4.5K a month, you CPF would have been reduce from $2.4 mthly to $1.4 mthly. That's $12k per annum savings for the gov if you're a civil servant.
$400/1200 = 30%
Gov gets to keep 70%, make you happy and still gets your vote. -

Afterall, given the flappings of the transport minstry in recent times, i would have thought YEO CHEOW TONG as the most vulnerable MINISTER still in office.
Hong Kah GRC would have been fair game for anyone.
Guess the WP will only contest areas where they have walked the ground.

I bet you PAP is thinking that it would not be so easy for the opposition next GE. For all you know, they may combine 3 GRCs to be a SuperGRC (SGRC) that'll require at least 15 candidates to compete

1. WP a party that can prove to be an alternative voice by contesting LHL
2. Knowing that the 20 something youngster will not win but giving them the experience to compete LHL. Then in future election, compteting with any minister will prove to be no obstacle
3. Knocking on LHL head and still get thanks for performing "National Service" because "we don't want a walkover PM" as quoted by LKT
