i thnk you shld see thisOriginally posted by Quincey:Again, lets be reminded that the number of ppl at rallys does not translate automatically into votes. Furthermore, it wouldn't be surprising so few ppl turn up fpr the PAP rally, I mean fact is we hear about their policies and politics all the time. The opposition on the other hand is a different proposition, the media hardly reports on them , if they did it's just the snipet of news about some flop or some inconcise comment on a certain issue. Thus, people are curious what is actually being said during those rallies, hence the turn out. It's worth noting too that the majority of the electorate are not present at these rallies, so it's anybodys guess who they'll vote for.
Eh, tomorrow got ah? WP also? What time?Originally posted by Pronewbie:So how was the WP Rally @ East Coast? I'm guessing a lot of people didn't go because it's quite inaccessible (Must take bus walk 20 - 30 mins) to rally site...
Wanted to go today.. Guess tmr I'll go since it'll be at Tampines SAFRA area also meant for EC GRC.

haha. check this out. the pictures of the WP rally at hougang on the ypap forum went missing.
the rally tml should be at around 7pm?
Ok, if that's the case, the crowds for both opposition and pap assuming be reduced by 1/2, that would become?Originally posted by rychel:I should be going since it's my grc, but I'll have school tml until 7.30pm and homework to complete
I think that the reason why there were so many ppl at hougang that day was partly due to the fact that the next day was a public holiday.
The media just show snippets which sometimes mislead us....I reckon 90% of airtime for PAPOriginally posted by Quincey:Again, lets be reminded that the number of ppl at rallys does not translate automatically into votes. Lets be fair.
What time is the pap rally picture taken? If its at 7 to 730pm, there might not be as many people. But if its like 9pm, then the crowd is really small, I say only 1/10 of WP's.
WP Rally at East Coast (1st May)
Great to see so many people came to support dispite the rain. I would say the crowd size is 3000 - 5000 or even more.
Mr Gomez made a speech and there was no hint of unconfidence or lack of support from his other party mates!
For those who also went, did Gomez say the party was rattled by his form submission mistakes for the past few days and however has now rediscovered their footings? When I reach home, I managed to catch channel U reported Gomez said that.
But I don't recall Gomez mention that leh. I thought he said the party was unaffected by the mistake.
Which version is right?
if your boss decides your performance in your works, this proposal defintely stands. how well you look after your citizens definitely is a better guage then the top six sector pays. If $$$ is the only consideration, where is the passion for serving the people.Originally posted by Aveme:Well yesterday at their AMK Rally,Mr Low Thia Kiang made a point in his speech which i think is reasonable. The suggestion is that minister's pay be pegged to a multipler on what the lowest 20% income bracket people earn
Eg if the multipler is x100 if the lowest 20% income earner earn $800 per month, then using this multipler, minister should get x100 = $80,000.If these lowest income bracket earn more, the ministers will earn more to reward them for policies well ran.
This way,it is really staying together, moving ahead (PAP's slogan for AMK GRC campaign),and not some staying together, stay the same or even move back while others who are better off and the PAP moving ahead. This way there is the encouragement for minister to really think about the poor and to help them and to help themselves too,win-win situation, and it will make these ministers to be accountable to the people for their policies and not just get rediculous high salaries month after months even if their policies turn out to be failures.
So what do you guys think of this?
