guess alot of ppl at quite fed up at teh current system......Originally posted by Cindyfeh:I went for the tampines rallies by SDA and pap.
There is a bigger crowd at the SDA rally than the pap one.
I hope that the bigger turnout = SDA wins tampines.Originally posted by duotiga83:guess alot of ppl at quite fed up at teh current system......

Singaporean will go listen to opposition rallies during GE...
but polling day,
they will kiasi..
end up they will give PM the mandate he wanted!

Then after they voted in the incumbent and the fare and GST increases after election, these KS singaporeans complain.Originally posted by ^MaRcUs^:a sad fact...

perhaps the oppositions should make some sense first. no point hearing nonsense and go vote for it.Originally posted by ^MaRcUs^:a sad fact...

correction. its good, sound and logical oppositions. if they're better than the PAP ministers, great!Originally posted by Don©:We need oppostion to keep check. Chiam made a surprise visit at tampines stadium to rally support.
We're just curious, but haha the opposition got what they wanted, OUR attention.Originally posted by Quincey:It is just natural for ppl to attend the opposition rally, I mean the know what the PAP has to offer, but the opposition is largely unknown to them. Furthermore, it'll be a 'breath of fresh air' apart from our daily lives - which I must say in Singapore is largely routine and mundane. So, I believe a larger turn out will not neccessary translate into votes for the opposition.

so what is it that about them that doesn't make sense?
u want to play with ur future, pls go ahead. dun need to stereotype.
what do you mean playing with our future? is heading towards absolutism not playing with your future?
well i don't think so ... if past trends are of any indication, there will always be subtantially more PAP voters than not ... because the bulk of the older generation simply vote for the PAP without thought ...Originally posted by NothingLeft:Opposition rallies are pulling the big crowds, unlike past General Elections.
There is strong interests in the Opposition parties than before.
I believe Singaporeans want to see a change in our politics where the fear factor discourages any aspiring politician who are viewing things differently from the Government.
This is a good sign that our electorades are maturing and will judge things for themselves based on personal experience. They will
not be persuaded by Government propagandas in local TV and newspapers.
Singaporeans are very much aware that our local medias are highly regulated
and controlled, as such cannot be depended for unbiased and honest reporting.
So, many go to opposition rallies to hear the truth and see if the oppositions
are as wicked as PAP make them out to be at the slightest opportunity PAP gets.
The Gomez slip error is a good example. PAP ministers, aided by Channel News Asia, are now having a field day misinterprating and exaggerating an honest, election-stressed mistake. PAP's bully tactic s will not go down well with the younger and knowledge-based voters!
But sadly, this is the outdated mentality of PAP's aging 'first world'
government leaders!
If you think they talk nonsense go to the Alternate Media Gallery thread in this forum and search for the SDP speeches at woodlands.Originally posted by tiggersgd:perhaps the oppositions should make some sense first. no point hearing nonsense and go vote for it.
