PAP and next largest party to form the ruling cabinet, I believe.Unless the other parties can form a coalition by themselves.Will have to read up a bit more for how this works in the Westminster system. -
Australia is ran by a coalition government made up of liberals and nationals. Might be good to see how they run it since they also follow the Westminister system but they sort of modified it because they run a federated system.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Coalition govt.

I totally agree with fymk. I really don't like the way they are running the election. It is clearly about manifestos and party glamours rather than being macro about the systems. I will hope the opposition wins if it is capable and credible enough.
I would have more faith if there have not been "plucking of words from all over to paint a different and distorted picture", "law suits involving nude pics and traffic offences", "broken English like 'I see break the world'..". These signs though minor are indicative of how incapable these people actually are if they somehow get to take their seats in Parliament. -

If the PAP should lose all the 47 contested wards, the Alternative 'Opposition' Parties shall form the NEW GOVERNMENT.
If we doubt that the Alternative Parties can do the job - then we are DOUBTING OURSELVES - as SINGAPOREANS.
It is the same question that is being asked each time when we apply for a job -
WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE ?
If we are not given the OPPORTUNITY TO THE JOB - how are we ever to get that critical experience ? How are we to show our ability and training ?
Are we to remain JOBLESS FOREVER ?
Should Singaporeans forever be DEPENDANT ON THE 'POWER OF ONE' - simply because WE WILL NOT GIVE THE OPPORTUNITY to the Alternative Party ? -

Now, the constitutional issue is whether a simple majority or a proportional majority dictates if the PAP will form the government with the next largest party, or can a collection of smaller parties band together under one umbrella, to form a larger coalition with the PAP.
Whatever the case, after all the smoke of the hustings, problems have to be solved, visions created and real work still has to be done.
The fact that we are discussing this today, is a sign that there is some progress in the political evolution of Singapore so far.. -
