i'm glad you mentioned it is a 2 way traffic, so while you are right in speaking of individual responsibility, that responsibility extends to the election department as well ... i didn't check i wrong, they didn't verify they're not quite doing their job either ...Originally posted by sbst275:The thing is, on your part you have to check
It's a 2 way traffic, same as to customer service
CAO is bound and regulated by SGX so any regulatory lapse can be attributable to SGX. NKF on the other hand is bound by the Charities Act and the Institution of Public Character whose regulation comes under govt bodies. hence the difference.Originally posted by sbst275:Wait
Isn't CAO listed at SGX which is bounded by SG's laws? So what makes it diff?
The NTUC staff, she has to serve so many customers a dayOriginally posted by snow leopard:i'm glad you mentioned it is a 2 way traffic, so while you are right in speaking of individual responsibility, that responsibility extends to the election department as well ... i didn't check i wrong, they didn't verify they're not quite doing their job either ...
Not to SGX, eventually it's to MASOriginally posted by snow leopard:CAO is bound and regulated by SGX so any regulatory lapse can be attributable to SGX. however i'm of the opinion that whoever pocketed the money and benefited from their privileged positions ought to be the primary targets of blame. as such people are primarily angwee with the Chinese in the CAO case and Durai in the NKF case.
sorry, to be perfect, I am a singapore born chinese..Called singaporean..trust me cause I served NS.Originally posted by king108:I am chinese and provened chinese as stated on my IC.
Check your IC else birth certificate to find out whether your parent is of what race. If it is so difficult to prove then only by checking his blood line is the only solution.
If he is borned in singapore, need me say no more.![]()
true, that's why mistakes can be made by both the NTUC staff as well as the customer. in any case, no customer would deliberately forget to take his change.Originally posted by sbst275:The NTUC staff, she has to serve so many customers a day
Again, NEITHER can you can you 100% expect that she gives the correct change
But his phone conversation was rude, "Thanks for your side of the story".
As for the ED side, isn't that phone call an way to call and verify?
One less candidate = One less opposition hahaOriginally posted by dracky:PAP is too much. I am disappointed that key PAP ministers are taking cheap shots at the guy. Gomez made a mistake. It is a small matter. Given the many things on the mind of a candidate, plus the pressure on an opposition candidate, it is understandable if Gomez slipped up.
Take a step back, look at the purpose of Gomez's application. Gomez is only asking to be certified as a minority candidate. He is clearly a minority. We can see from his skin colour. We don't need the Election Dept to certify this fact. The Election rules should not be administered in such a way to disqualify potential candidates.
yes, eventually it is to MAS but not before implicating SGX first ... whereas for NKF, it directly implicates the relevant ministries, not in wrong doing per say but perhaps in audit inadequacies ...Originally posted by sbst275:Not to SGX, eventually it's to MAS
Law diff, the prob is the same, poor accounting practices

I suggest the Minister of Home affairs to step down for the poor living standard amongst the poor and inadequating protecting the rights of Singapore workers
I suggest the Mentor Minister to step down for our failure at SuZhou industrial park.
I suggest the Prime Minister to step down for the saga of Nassim Hill condomium
I suggest Ho Ching to resign for the poor performance at Temasek.
If James Gomez resignation can bring about more accountability, then he should pull out from election.
Anyone else can suggest which other Minister should resign??
i see. so you mean the minority certificates are actually superfluous because the NRIC or birth certificate shows the candidates race. in that case this whole issue about misplaced minority forms becomes even more senseless ...Originally posted by king108:I am chinese and provened chinese as stated on my IC.

TrueOriginally posted by snow leopard:yes, eventually it is to MAS but not before implicating SGX first ... whereas for NKF, it directly implicates the relevant ministries, not in wrong doing per say but perhaps in audit inadequacies ...
NKF has become a national issue whereas CAO did not because the average citizen on the street donated to the NKF but only a fraction of them bought shares, let alone CAO shares.
Enquire abt the forms? You dun hand in anything to me, what can I do either?Originally posted by snow leopard:true, that's why mistakes can be made by both the NTUC staff as well as the customer. in any case, no customer would deliberately forget to take his change.
yes, he isn't very careful in saying what he said.
ED only called two days later, and only after Gomez enquired about his forms.

Politics aside, his argument with the ED's staff could have caused the lady into trouble. Any allegation made, she might be suspended from duty over a certain of period. So who's going to be responsible for that?
