Was watching the replay over and over again and noticed that while Gomez filled the form, Sylvia Lim was next to him. Then while Sylvia was not anywhere around, Gomez kept the form in his bag. Co-incident or is Gomez honest? Perhaps MM was right about Gomes...
While the election dept staff watched Gomez filled the form and did not submit, why didn't they asked for it on the spot? Why was the CCTV there?
It seem that Gomez always have problems with form submission, same as the last GE. Hmmmm... how strange?
Second issue
I think it's game over for Aljunied GRC. MM had challenged LTK to sue him for calling JG a liar before polling day. Failure to do so means WP does not dispute that JG is a liar. So after the count, if WP win, MM or PAP is going to dispute the results as WP agrees that JG is a liar and therefore had mislead the voters. However, if PAP wins, no issue.
If WP drop JG before polling day, even if WP wins the count, the PAP will bring the issue to court and dispute that there is no minority representation or 4 MPs is not allowed for 5 seats. The court will then have to make a decision. Perhaps a by-election will be called. Either way WP lose. If WP sue PAP, they will then prove that JG as a liar. So is JG honest? It's a BIG QUESTION. You decide......
Sembawang also game over. Chee Siok Chin will be sued for dafamation, made a bankrupt even if she wins. So I suggest the focus should be on the other GRCs. -
An article from Yawning Bread regarding the sanity of the GOMEZ SIDESHOW and how the Ruling Party is dragging themselves into gutter politics, the very politics that MM Lee said on national TV to stamp out in 1960s and 1970s.
I hope many take the time to read and disect the situation the way Alex Au has done, so that some measure of hope is not lost that the people realise how deliberate, lacklustre and shallow the politics of the Ruling Party are.
And how, if we were all foolish enough to listen to one side of the story without careful deliberation, we could just as easily fall into the same trap.... -
Another thing, why he needed to submit the form if he was going Aljunied? Unless he's going Ang Mo Kio or East Coast as far as where WP is contesting

most plausibly, Gomez was trying to bluff PAP into thinking he will be contesting AMK, perhaps with the hope of luring some better PAP candidates away from Aljunied towards AMK. a silly gimmick no doubt but a little far fetched to infer that he is attempting to discredit the electoral process.

Yet i must admit this elections is the best time for WP to determine whether all their hardwork over the past years have amounted to sufficient votes to capture a GRC.
GRCs are certainly vulnerable, not the least Yeo Cheow Tong for his series of blunders while being transport minister. Too bad the WP did not walk the ground at Hong Kah else that would certainly be another potential danger ground for the Ruling Party.
On your account of being 'interrogated' by the police, i can only surmise that in numbers and wearing that blue uniform, the home team think they are above the law.
Your snap remark about whether you had 'broken the law' only fuelled their emotional tandrems, tentamount to questioning their authority.
But i will say in no uncertain terms that the WP have played their cards well for this election. My only regret is that they didn't field Chia Ti Lik, Tan Wui-hua and Tan Bin Seng together with Sylvia Lim and Mohd Rahizan. I guess they wanted to spread out their chances of winning Joo Chiat Central and possibly also threaten the East Coast slate.
Hope is always a good thing, and hope that they spring a surprise by wresting a GRC from the Ruling Party will indicate a job well done.
And should they win, with the quality they have brought in, there is no doubt in my mind that they will put in good show, just like Hougang. -
WP already mentioned over and over, its up to voters to decide if JG is wrong, and if he is, voters like LTK said, are smart enough to make the right choice not to vote for a party they don't trust. But down here, we have the pap trying aggressively to push the fact that the wp cannot be trusted at all and voters should not vote them as it's the wrong choice. I mean c'mon lar, if you're 21 years old enough to vote, I'm sure you have the common sense to make your own choices when it comes to who's right and who's wrong. If you think JG is wrong, don't vote for wp and don't get them into parliament,and if you can't decide, you can always nullify your vote.

They harp the rising cost of living, we are a free market, so any attempts to control to keep cost low, ppl may start again accusing of controlling the market
PAP increase the price of coffee? Coffee price increased because sugar, needed to make coffee mixture went up by 50%. Though I have no idea till now why tea prices also go up
Wayang... If you can see now, James Gomez dun even need to 'submit' a minority form if fielded at Aljunied. It has been stated during the boundary report of the minority canidate requirement, at least must have 1 EITHER a Malay or an Indian canidate -

He was dangerously close to aligning himself with political gangsters, especially about the part where he claimed the opposition was nothing more than rabble who once every 5 years comes out, holds rallies and 'scold' the government.
He even went so far as to lambast the people who attend these rallies as loving every minute of it, a chance to see some 'govt bashing'.
What you mentioned about the snappy comments by Ng Eng Hen mirrors my thoughts: that the Ruling Party lack the depth and guile to outmanoeuvre the better-prepared WP.
Certainly everything Ng said was clutching at straws. Baseless and empty.
All they can do is monopolise more air time by dedicating still more tiresome reviews on the JAMES GOMEZ SHOW. This time however, i get the feeling from the general public that their mugslinging no longer commands the same audience as before.
After all, the people are more EDUCATED, more critical and less gullible.
The full BIAS of the Media and SPH are on show for every Singaporean; the more they continue to plaster the front page with pro-PAP election material and the JAMES GOMEZ SHOW, the more it may backfire at the Ruling Party.

SINGAPORE : Foreign Minister George Yeo has said he no longer wants to talk about the James Gomez issue.
Instead, he would rather concentrate his efforts on what his team could do for Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC) residents.
Mr Yeo is leading the People's Action Party (PAP) team for Aljunied GRC in the upcoming General Election.
With two days of hustings left, the PAP team is now intensifying their visits to residents in Kembangan and Punggol to better understand their needs.
Minister Yeo said his team has a blueprint for the ward, including building more facilities tailored for senior citizens.
He is confident voters will be able to make an accurate judgement with regards to the Gomez issue.
Mr Yeo said, "What we want is a masterplan for Aljunied GRC for an ageing population so it is lifts on every floor, rams, void decks; we need more park benches and I think we need more toilets...We need a whole range of facilities and activities to help them, so that they will enjoy their senior citizens years and find life a little more less difficult...There is no need for me to talk about what Mr Gomez has said; it is what Mr Gomez has not said that is important." - CNA/ms
Finally. He and his party wasted 7 long days condemning the opponents instead of telling the voters what they had to offer. These Gomez issue had cause the FM his good guy image and most probably his voters support.
To date, the oppositions had come out with lots of suggestions and inputs (whether feasibile or not) but the ruling party had come out with none chosing to waste 7 good long days in the character analysis.
