Oh, by the way, it's not hard to see why the PAP are so desperate for a strong mandate - how on earth can they not be jealous when the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, whose style of democracy is something we're much closer to than that of the US or Britain's(if our Press Freedom and Human Rights records are anything to go by
), has been yielding a 100% mandate(ie.no opposition) since 1953?

Have you attended any oppo rally till now? Do you have an accurate picture of what the oppo are proposing this GE? WP has at least field a very credible team this GE.
Beside the oppo are not going to form the new govt since PAP will still have the majority seats and will form the new govt.The oppo will just be in parliment to give an alternative voice for the people
Have you being the Hougang? Is it the slum that the PAP said that it has become? No it is ran as good as the PAP wards,they even had their lifts upgraded FREE from the limited town council funds Mr Low has.The people's support there for him is not for nothing. -

If there is no more oppositon in parliment,who is there to check on the PAP? The PAP can then do whatever they like on what they think is righteouness,same as what TT Durai thought he was doing when he went around to sue 2 person who spoke out against him -

I would consider PAP a great ruling party when policemen were still wearing short. As for now, I think all of them are only wealthy ministers doing a good job. However I must also say that given the power of PAP, they can make any ah kow on the street look good in that white outfit. -

About cost of HDB flat, I remember before MBT, HDB flats were built bigger and sold cheaper than during MBT term in office. By that I mean, a 5-room then is bigger than a 5-room now.
So why are HDB flats built smaller and sold more expensively? -
Punggol and Sengkang are good examples, lots of unsold flats. i'm already 24 and i've never voted in my life and now when election comes its a walkover. i've never thought about being anti-pap, i just want to live my life as peacefully as possible, i do not wish to think about the "great and far sighted" plans the govt has for singapore.
but from young till now, the situation seems to get worse each year, blunders coming out more and more ofter. and i'm not particularly smart but i am capable of recognizing stupidity. with more "WHAT THE HELL" situations coming out , tell me, why would i vote for them?
and they always have that top down attittude that they're always correct, even when they're wrong
plus i never have a liking for people who think winning a debate is to attack the people instead of their views, it speaks for their integrety, something i noticed some forum members doing when arguing over political views. i'm surprised how parents and upbringing can come into that

It is not true those oil companies won't invest because of the way opposition should win an edge here. they think in term of long term investment returns, and getting an edge here, also of money value and strategic concerns plus market conditions: we are a peaceable people : just how we conduct our rallies. Sharply we dismiss all and fulfill all legal requirements.
2. If the PAP loses big, there will still be in control, and the message is not just the opposition is telling them but we the people of Singapore are not to be sidelined and marginalized.. There would be a strong voice in the parliament for the people. Instead of catering to the wishes of the rulers
3. We wanted a better place for our children and also ourselves.. Winning by the PAP may only provide a watershed for their total abuse of powers to suppress all voices of the conscience towards good. When they talk about the have-nots among us, do they really care? Then they may do those things like giving to help but in a committed way like providing essential survival need for the needy all through the year? There are sufficient surpluses in our economy to do it, without having to dig into reserves. The opposition on the other hand, has to really do well or else they will be kick out pretty fast next election! Those national reserves are not an emergency holding, they can be depleted by any garmen should there is a need or call for it.. Serving to the welfare of the people is a very important and integral part of the GovernmentÂ’s duty, any government will fail when the poor go begging! -

yes, i definately think opp. are needed, cuz they will keep a "check" on the pap, to make sure that they are doing good.
however, though some of the issues the opp. said make sense, but, how do u gurantee that they will be a do-action then talk-action ppl?
talk is often more more more simple than action..
addressing an issue is also more more more simple than performing the solution..
providing the solution in words-form is also more more more simple than providing the solution in action-form..
and i do not say i support pap, i oni support the strongest, at the very least right now, besides a few "creditable" opp. in the WP, i basically feel most of them are/do not hold such a good creditial that i should vote for them...
maybe the (some of the) opp. may have passion (but ability wise?), but from what i see, besides (a few) "creditable" opp. most of the majority just looks to me like ppl who want to gain fame overnight by going to the opp. just my personal opinion though.
anyway, it's not up to me/you/anyone alone to decide who win..
i'm just trying to bring in the fact that why have so many ppl forgotton wad pap had done? they might have done it overbroad, but if the opp. is to lead, i dun think they cld have done it any better also, managing a country is not so easy as to say say on rally oni.. -
