Many people know that ministers pays in singapore is not transparent. What is your feeling when you notice LHL is getting PM's pay + minister of finance pay? Did LHL mark up his own salaries and the mps salaries? By accepting the ridiculous amount which is far higher than the US president, is this not corruption?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush reported adjusted gross income of $735,180 for last year, on which he paid $187,768 in federal taxes, according to the president's return released Friday by the White House.
The White House also released the 2005 tax return filed by Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne. According to the return, the Cheneys have overpaid their taxes this year and are entitled to a refund of about $1.9 million. Their adjusted gross income was about $8.82 million.

On their 2005 return the Bushes listed as income his presidential salary -- about $400,000 -- and investment income from trusts that hold their assets.

For US President on ~20% tax dues of $8.82 will give an adjusted gross income of $735,180.
For SG PM (assuming same tax rate) ~20% of $1,100,000 will give an adjusted gross income of $880,000. -

This is the problem with Singapore government or ruling party which do not have transparency of ministers pay. Any way it stated Ministers Annual salaries not annual income. Make LHL and his ministers disclose their salaries, i believe many Singaporean want to know it, let us people be thier judges. Let us people know what kind of ridiculous salaries they had marked up by themselves.
