We are not Competitive enough. Why?

Have you ever ask this question??
I believe we have to dig deeper into our
system's competiveness and history.
A) System
1) Living Cost. and so high?
2) Business Cost. and why?
3) Lack of Entrepenuership spririts? And why?
Over-Reliance on a Dominate Government? or Pro-GLCs, Pro-MNCs policies?
4) Education Systems??

B) History
Had there been correct or wrong decisions in the past??
that had lead to the previously listed??
.......
Why only now there are so many drastic changes in our education
and business system structure???
Was it only because of global changes?
Or was it also partly because of flawed decisions in the past?? -
i really dont understand what they are doing with the educational system.
