The Good, the Bad and the Ugly about PAP
GOOD -- PUT us on the world map by being FIRST in many things. Our seaport, airport, land transport are envied by people from many countries. Our civil servants are fearful, to the extent of kiasoooooo, and is thus well liked by people from countries with corrupt leaders. We are fair to all; in fact, unlike some developed countries, we are doing more for the minority. People young and old from all over the world want to come here --- to study or to stay on for good. The Singapore passport is a hot cake. BAD -- PUT us on a tight belt by letting the cost of essentials go up so much and so frequently. Utility charges, transport, education and medical, just to name a few, keep going up despite the Government having huge reserves in its coffer. Essential services become privatised and when we protest, the ministers, the civil servants and even the union leaders will give the same reasons - compelling or coercing us to believe. Some of us earn only $1000 a month working 12 hours a day, yet our ministers are getting mammoth salary. The MP allowance alone, I understand, is more than 10K. UGLY -- PUT us on a hot plate. Ask anybody who chooses to join the opposition camps. And ask your friends working with the mass media. Are we in the First World or Third World ?
Can life be any better ? How ?
