hi TooFree,
1) are you saying we will not get political stability if opp win 5-10 seats?
are u saying tat in every other 1st world countries there is no politcal stability?
2) and like you said, it is ONLY ONE of MANY Factors to attract startup.
in fact, as long as there is no one killing each other in the street,
the other factors are even more important.
eg cost and quality of manpower etc etc
for simple jobs, the our high cost is making us less compeitive.
for mid-value jobs, like normal engineering or high-end manufacturing
we r still ok.
but for high-value jobs like high-tech R&D, i have to say our quality
is not there yet...
Worst still, we had created a culture where everyone only wants
a stable job in GLC or MNC w prestige, who wants to join startup?
Rice bowl and stability ranks over their true passion.
Moreover, the cheap FTs without good check is making R&D engineers,
which is infact a highly professional job to plain high-class "factory worker" without recoginition.
These further result in good people moving out of R&D.
Why do you think they restructure so drastically to form Astar,
and promote Biotech.
And Astar, to me, is still almost like another GLC.
But i have to applaud Philip Yeo on some decisions nevertheless.
We have made much improvement in these indeed.
write to you more late if im free.. going out now.
