Why all the hatred?

CSJ is very fortunate indeed.
He deserved to be taken to Level 3 basement of Abu Gharib, hung upside and given electric shock every 5 minutes, long ago.
Instead, he now taunts the police, push them aside, and continues to break the law.
He is lucky to be in Singapore. He knows it. There is no law against defaming anyone. There is nothing to stop anyone from defaming anyone. He knows it. And he has done it. Again. He only has to face the private response of the person defamed, but only if the person so defamed decides to respond.
What he wants is freedom from the consequences of his irresponsible behaviour.
And he is so full of hate!

He have done good for singapore...yes he did and also awarded himself and his family and relative very beautifully ...Singapore's success of today... was also mainly due to...the locality of singapore that is situated in the centre of east and west of the world, rapid technological progress after WW2, tremendous amount of trading from east to west and vice vesa, natural deep port and this was not only he knows... Sir Stamford Raffles done it hundreds of years ago.
Tell me.....if singapore do not have any of the above natural advantages...can lky transform singapore into what is today?....and all these successes were not done with his effort alone...he is not a superman. -

Without the freedom of press and free speach... people like you have no idea of the atrocities that goes on in Singapore to individuals powerless to have their voice heard. -

Hey Hong Kong is what it is today without LKY and they r under the British rule until 1997 (who couldn't care anyless other than making money for themselves). The terrain in HK is so much rugged with all the mountains. If you have been there, you will have seen the way they managed to build the buildings on the slopes. The politics of fear is never implemented in HK unlike our LKY who prefer fear to love. Why such hatred?
1. They timed the release of the CPF money for people to buy stocks when it was at the peak so that once it was released, the market crashed... up till today many of the stocks people bought are at the bottom even though the index is at the top.
2. They pushed property prices through the roof and then crashed! Now many are indebted and working everyday simple to make them and their GLCs richer.
3. They in the name of "upgrading" the hospitals, privatise them so that medical care in Singapore is exorbitant. Nobody ask to be sick and they use sickness as an opportunity to scalp the citizens. The ministers then come out and say that the opposition is exaggerating about health care costs.
4. for making life miserable in Singapore... just look at people in our neigboring countries... Singaporeans yangkee pocket no money... -

If you want to compare HK .. I'm sure their income gap is quite big. Surely they have beggers on the streets also. -

talking about the poor- i saw an old woman picking empty cans from the rubbish bin near a bus-stop the other day. A few people at the nearby bus-stop, instead of sympathising with her, instead commented "...eh, so dirty!"

Think about it this way. Look at the bigger picture:
- Give your opposition party a chance to grow themselves. Don't kill them off now because they don't appeal to you. If they're gone, they can't recruit better future candidates.
- If the polls show a strong support for the opposition party, then in future, other opposition parties might go there and contest too.
- If the polls show a strong support for the opposition party, PAP will try to "buy" you back, and will give out better benefits to gain support. They will have to refrain from pissing you off with sudden increase in GST, bus and MRT fares etc.
- We need more opposition in parliament to question new policies. Then, only the good policies will stand up against criticism. Even a crazy mad dog will make the biggest man back off and think twice before trying to do anything funny.
- Maybe we won't get to see any big changes now, but think of the future, and think of our next generation. -

Lets not forget, when LKY was just a lawyer at the 1955, he also go abt making speeches wad, u dun see the british charging at him carrying riot shields, tear gas and sub-machine guns, attempting to drag him down the stage rite. Put it this way, had Singapore been a more open and liberal society in which no one fears voicing his views, or their views are seriously regarded........do u thing CSJ would have resorted to all those. If Singapore govt choose to listen to Singaporeans do u think TT DURAI can have the chance of going scott free for sooo...... long? Do u think there will be mis-adventures in China-investment, population control, things like that? The funny and irony thing is dat the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC, ppls have to resort to use "white elephants" to hint the govt to open Buangkok? And our first world polices needs to act so speedly to clam down on the white elephant putter and the RGS girls. The worst thing is....... our men in white still can take pride in the white elephant saga and claim that they are always listening to the Buangkok ppls..... Our health minister also can have the cheek to claim ingnorance of the NKF saga.... in other countries, the minister would have volunteer to solve the issue and step down.

the good thing about being an authoritarian state like ours is that when a button is pressed, everybody jumps in unison. that's why we were able to react faster. problem is, as an authoritarian state, we are totally dependent on the wisdom and foresight of our leaders and when they fail to see the future correctly, like their over-empahsis on electronics manufacturing, we suffer grave consequences.
when the people are free to lead themselves and not be led by the nose, there is diversity in directions that ensures that collectively we do not all run into a trap like a herd ...
