I apologise in advance if I'm stepping on toes here, but is parliament rather Christian-biased in its composition? Considering the Christians make up less than 15% of the population but seem to be the dominant group in parliament.
I don't have exact statistics and so may be wrong but this is based on clicking around the Parliament list of MPs, admittedly still not updated yet. Was just clicking around the CVs of MPs, and noticed the religion part of it and then paid more attention as I clicked around more. Anyone has an idea of the accurate composition? What about the composition of the Cabinet?
I'm finding out for curiosity's sake. Thanks, hopefully I didn't raise a difficult question. Our government tends to emphasise how many minority races are being represented, what about religious representation? Feel that more needs to be done to make Parliament a slightly better representation of religion in singapore. Not asking for exactly proportionate representation though, that would be too limiting.
Just feel that its always been "racial harmony" thats being focused on in Singapore. Is it because "religious harmony" is very much more difficult to focus on due to the exclusivity/monotheism of some religions?
Once again, I do recognise this is a sensitive topic and extend my apologies to anyone I have inadvertently offended.
