A civil servant to be exactOriginally posted by BÃ¥seline:Under "Latest News" section.
James Gomez arrested for allegedly threatening election officials
is it? i tot he juz forgot to submit the form.. much less have direct interactions with the officials.Originally posted by the Bear:actually, he did commit a crime.. under the Penal Code, he lied and threatened a civil servant doing his duty..
no one is to blame except Gomez himself for this..
seriously..
time he took responsibility for his own actions...
The worst is that for Aljunied GRC, the minimum requirement is a Malay canidate who needs to fill the formOriginally posted by Ito_^:is it? i tot he juz forgot to submit the form.. much less have direct interactions with the officials.

I hope forumites know the meaning before putting the guilty verdict on gomez
how do you prove the deliberate intention?Originally posted by the Bear:i know the "lie" part is enough to get him behind bars..
and he lied... heck! it was even caught on CCTV!
methinks he's a plant to destablise the WP, just like CSJ was a plant to destablise the SDP

If by now you think it's because to retain their power, he himself got into troubleOriginally posted by lftwgr:As with every other GE, the GE is a sideshow to the main event, the lynching of the bogeyman.
Pappists have proved themselves to be too predictable. So much for calls of national unity and moving ahead.
Have you heard both sides of the story? if you have not, your judgment is merely a one sided point of view.Originally posted by sbst275:If by now you think it's because to retain their power, he himself got into trouble
1st, lie to a civil servant, 2nd creating false image, Aljunied needed requirement is 1 Malay canidate for the minority cert, not an Indian canidate
Even if 1 party field 2 malay canidate, only 1 need to apply for it

Nobody said opposition candidates can't learn from their unfortunate predecessors.Originally posted by Blue Dolphin:Strange WP candidate. Based overseas. Leave country next day after GE. (When did he buy his ticket, this morning through the internet?). Did he not expect to be elected? So when he says vote for me, does it mean "thank you and see you in five years time?" Is he not going to work for the resident of Aljunied GRC in these five years to thank them for their support or was he going on an urgent holiday/back to work?
Seems like some Aljunied GRC residents may not have a full picture of this candidate.

If no requirement is needed for an Indian canidate cert, why he went there?Originally posted by kilua:Have you heard both sides of the story? if you have not, your judgment is merely a one sided point of view.
He went to ask for an Indian minority certOriginally posted by CoolMyth:Aljunied WP team:

Gomez didn't do anything wrong for that, right? Or I am missing something?
