It was the reason Japan went into a tailspin for more than a decade and is still feeling the impact.Originally posted by dragg:high property prices is the main reason for our high cost of living.
You agree with the bitter pill advocated by the writer?Originally posted by dragg:high property prices is the main reason for our high cost of living.

Negative yield? Permanent Glut? radical I would think.Originally posted by dragg:it is a fact that cannot be denied.
firstly, we are paying way too much for our hdb flats. look at those old 3-rm flats (20-30 yrs old) for example. they are going at at least 130k.
high prices of commercial properties lead to high rentals rates. who i n the end will suffer because of the high rental?
the end users of the services.
what is your opinion?Originally posted by casino_king:Negative yield? Permanent Glut? radical I would think.
I must agree with that... but don't you think the readers there would already have some idea on those points/items you mentioned?Originally posted by Aveme:frankly thou i do not like high property prices in singapore, that piece of article has no substances at all.It is bashing high property prices with nothing to back it up.
I agree with some of the points that high property prices benefits the rich and etc but if he wants to write such an article,he should at least show some proof, figures etc to back up his point on obsolute corruption. If not the article is at best very light weight to be taken seriously
radical... needs a lot of pradigm shift among Singaporeans who are used to thinking of properties as a form of investment rather than a consummable... as a result of you know who's propaganda.Originally posted by dragg:what is your opinion?
You mean the link between high property prices and corruption is tenous?Originally posted by dragg:i too do not agree on the corruption point as there is no proof whatsoever.
yes there are readers and there are readers.... each one will have a different mentality,so it is the job of the writer to convince those people who do not readily believe whatever they read and see, only then will such an article be a well written piece,if not like what you said those readers already have some ideas on those points mentioned, they would already not be reading it with an objective point of view since they will be basing on their own views to judge the article and not based on info from the article to decide if it is true.Originally posted by casino_king:I must agree with that... but don't you think the readers there would already have some idea on those points you mentioned?

Don't Singaporeans ever say enough is enough? Not even when their children's future is at stake? Not even when their children's welfare is at stake?Originally posted by ShutterBug:Haiya... whatever you all say about it, PAP will come out with some of their own economic reasons to keep prices high - so that they continue to reap revenues.
We just continue to - tow the line.
Hhehehee.. if we all start to say 'Nough is Enough!', they might resort to something close to what Sadam did to those who opposed him...Originally posted by casino_king:Don't Singaporeans ever say enough is enough?
