You people always demand things here and there. Demand good oppositions, demand good government, demand low tax, demand upgrading, demand government to low the price of this and that. Most of us are working, serving our NS, keeping our places clean, helping to prevent crimes, helping the poors, sending our children to schools as part of the up bringing of the society, paying taxes taxes, taxes, taxes, GST, income tax, paying expensive public transportation fares (SBS just reported record earning despite the record hike of oil price.) isn't it these are contributions. You fool 
(SBS just report record earning despite the record hike of oil price.) Let me ask you. If the record earning of SBS is being justified as a public transport service? Is the record earnings of PowerGrid and PUB justifyable?
Tell me. By individual singaporean or personal, who own the most shares in Temasek holdings?
Who got the tremendous biggest part of the cake? Commoners, singaporeans?
They rewarded themselves tremendous, ridiculously, beautifully and handsomely in terms of perks, salaries, dividends, bonuses, enjoy free tax, enjoy their life like royal families; where all of them so called the indispensible ministers and the high ranking elites have no feel of the ground and the agony of people with income of $2000.00 a month to support their children's education, daily expenses, food and laundry, haircut, medical, tuitions, outings, garments, toiletories and the parent's personal expenses, utilities bills, expensive conservancy fees and all kinds farks in livelihood of singapore. -

well, I need not advertise what I have contributed back to the society,
but I am very much involved with the society work,
and hence I am very much for the idea of a multi-party representation in the parliament, to better reflects views from all walks of life.
I do understand the writer's point of asking how much we have done for the society, well...there are indeed many who only spend time at home, online... etc... Singapore is our home indeed, and we should not escape the responsibility in keeping the island clean and safe, and making it a better society and economy... so... I think we also deserve a larger pie of the national income hor??? -

And on the topic, is this some kind of self-help inspiration message or a deeper political discourse? If its an attempt at the latter, I think you should make a distinction between people making selfish demands and people voting for a system of governance. In any case, wouldn't you agree that it's the people who voted for upgrading etc who fall into the former category? -

What the general Singaporeans have done for the last 10 years is to be the most obedient people in the whole world in fattening the reserves and some one assets, getting miserable salary and allowing foreign talent in getting all the jobs, sponsoring oversea foreign talent huge sum of money and medals money but seeing local sport authority refusing to invest on the local female gym team to go asian games.
What the singaporeans have done is already admirable to the extent that we have become mockery of other nations.
We see money invested to laying beautiful tiles on the corridor and fancy garden instead of the ever increasing number of old people digging aluminium cans from the dustbin.
I guessed I have to start getting a taxi and cleaner training certificate as what the PM have stated in his national rally speech last year.
It is kind of irony that the people can laugh when the PM quoted the example of the cleaner as that is their eventual destiny if they cannot repay the life-long debts that they are presenting serving.

The Ruling Party was so rich in having their victory party over Thailand.
The 100 grassroot leaders was invited overto re-think how to "win" more votes.
Who is footing for the bill on this "victory" trip ???
Pulau Tekong or Sentosa is good enough.
Do they need to hide away to Thailand ???
This is how the tax payers money have been utilised.
So much for no money in helping the poor and the sick. -
