Be sincere and honest in making promises,
Do not make promises that cannot be delivered, (e.g. Swiss Standard of living)
For whatever the reason if promises are not kept
It will be worse to try to explain failure
So lesson one for good government ministers
Do not make promises that cannot be delivered,
To try to explain promises that were not delivered,
Will cause more pain like rubing salt into wound,
Broken promises cause bad faith
Which undermine the root of integrity tree,
So learn the lesson and be more humble in correcting
Past policies and assumptions that did not work
Do not try to explain them away,
Take ownership of problems caused by wrong policies,
That is the mark of true leadership
Otherwise the tree of integrity will be blown away by strong wind. -

When ministers talked about economic restructuring, there was only behind the scene talking with no sign of any such strategic positioning to utilise our strengths to the fullest.
There is no realizable plan, scheme, detailing and finalizing to launch such a program as what Dr. Goh Keng Swee or Wesemius would have done if they are still around.
Many past announcements of business hub, IT hub, technology highway, international branding, remain fragmented and not put into strategic positioning as Stanley Shih has done for Acer.
There has been too much attention given to concepts about leadership and education but not real strategic economic planning and consistent implementation. Even when IR is to be implemented, there will be lack of coordination and spin-off effects to benefit the whole economy if there is no clearly thought-out strategy to use our locational and human resources to the fullest. -
