Then let me ask you, if you fight tooth and nail to suppress this small little comment, people will think you are trying to suppress something, especially if the view held by this man is not solely exclusive to him, but to a sizeable number of people.Originally posted by babymac13:I don't agree with above. If someone accuse u of a liar, you are corrupted, do you stand up and against the rebuttal while your name and reputation are at stake of being gulity.
Definitely, it's not a small matter for I can see as being accused of corrupted while you are doing a role of PM or MM. Imagine how will the world see Singapore government if that accusation is true?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Then let me ask you, if you fight tooth and nail to suppress this small little comment, people will think you are trying to suppress something, especially if the view held by this man is not solely exclusive to him, but to a sizeable number of people.
Do you know how the world sees us in the first place? We are not some perfect, utopian state, and our leaders are not that well received in political debates either.Originally posted by babymac13:Definitely, it's not a small matter for I can see as being accused of corrupted while you are doing a role of PM or MM. ItÂ’s fact that itÂ’s like an egg hitting a rock, but rock will have stand up and defend if being bumped with untrue facts.
I think it’s just a different perspective if you want to use the word “suppress”. He didn’t suppressed the people, he only suppress the accuser.
What you need is facts and evidences, not based on your assumptions.
Why the Philippines ?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:There is no utopian state anywhere and our political leaders are a much better regarded than those from supposedly democratic nations like the Philippines.
Philippines can't hold a candle to any of the EU members.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:There is no utopian state anywhere and our political leaders are a much better regarded than those from supposedly democratic nations like the Philippines.
As you said Politics is a game where all players comes together to 'thrash' each other. However, make sure he thrash the fact correctly. He should have know the consequences of making a false claim in the first place. It's not the first time he doing it so, he has been made bankrupt, jailed and he should learn his lesson well, at least by coming up some facts or envidences.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Do you know how the world sees us in the first place? Ask yourself why, go and read more about what the powers that be did to those who dared to stand up and engage them directly and without decorum(like there is any need to) .
This forum is full of such topics, maybe you'd like to do a search.Suppression does not merely take the form of going after one man, it has got a lot more to do with the rippling effect of that particular action.
Electioneering is a time where, you as a public figure, expect to get smeared and you fight back like a man, and engage that chap in public, not in a courtroom where the people cannot have access to what ever discussions or pre-suit settlements that is going on.
Politics is a game where public figures are public targets. If you cannot play, please step out, and if you are a good leader, you will have your own ammo at hand to counter those arguments.Don't tell me our leaders are that dumb?
I don't believe in their explanations that litigation is the only way, sorry but no jazz.

Immediately after serving his jail sentence, Tan was 'called-up' for National Service, and sent to the Artillery Unit. He probably got additional 'fixxing' attention from the Artillery Unit, which was constantly moving the 120mm Mortars manually on route marches.
Do we need to guess who was carrying the 120mm Motar Base Plate or the Barrel ?
Knowing that you will be constantly humiliated and psychologically fixed, will you not AWOL and stay away ?
During about the same period, and as a 'White Horse' - did LHL even get to carry the bipod for 120mm motar, let alone the barrel or its base plate ?
Tan Wah Piow was only a NUS Student Union Leader, with youthful enthusiasm to be socially active, to help the industrial workers to understand their Workers' Rights.
What was the crime that Tan Wah Piow committed to be fixed to such an extent ?
Incidentally, [b]Phey Yew Kok later absconded from Singapore Justice after he was discovered for corruption in the development of the Big Splash project at the East Coast Park.
Surprisingly, this Government spent more money and time to track and persecute Francis Seow than taking any interest in bringing Phey Yew Kok back to Singapore for justice to be executed.

Is it surprising that the Ministers and Civil Servants were already enjoying remunerations that were much higher than every Singapore executives and workers - and yet corruption occurred within the government - as well as in the private sector amongst the more affluent in Singaporean society ?Originally posted by t_a_s:why so many PAP MPs corrupted, I thought MM says the government is clean and corruption free? What did Peh Chin Wah do? Was he involved in some kind of fraud?Originally posted by t_a_s:why so many PAP MPs corrupted, I thought MM says the government is clean and corruption free? Allegation of Fact:2.Tan wah piow is a immgration lawyer, rather than a so called human
That you, in collaboration with a few ex-activists of the Federation of United Kingdom and Eire, Malaysian and Singapore StudentsÂ’ Organizations (FUEMSSO), who were members of Tan Wah PiowÂ’s Marxist discussion group in the United Kingdom, established the drama group Third Stage, in Singapore, in 1983, with the purpose of using it as a vehicle to subvert the existing socio-political system.
