may back fire. cause may shows all these are for vote buying only, and not out of concern/goodwill and sincerity to serve the people when providing these services in the first place. Eric Low never had a character comparable to Low Thia Khiang.
How did he ever believe that he could wrest Hougang from the incumbent?
The only reason a higher percentage of votes swung in his favour at the 2001 elections was mainly because the residents bit the upgrading carrot. Fortunately, people now wise-up to the unscrupulous use of taxpayer's cash for ONE PARTY's benefit.
At best, his TV antics liken to that of a circus clown. At worse, he is a political opportunist.

you mean the 2 PAP folks, Eric loh and Sitoh? they are not MP, true, but if I not wrong, they are apoointed as town mayor of these 2 wards, hence the MTP sessions. Let them continue to place their own party members as mayors and town council advisors in the opposition wards. It will continue to draw the irk of the residents and firmly entrench their loyalty to the alternatives.
Ruling Party tactics have already been exposed as hollow and mercenary so either they change or they lose more votes, possibly even a GRC at the next election. -
