Actually the part that Dan Brown acknowledge as fiction is the characters in the book and their conversation, there is a FACTS page at the front of his book stating all documents and research done/used in the book are real.Originally posted by HENG@:its mostly fiction, as Dan Brown has acknowledged.
as for the bits about the Church committing attrocities, that is true, if anyone cares to go do research. But most xtians cannot face up to the fact that their religion has been responsible for acts of volence as big as or even greater in scale than modern day genocides happening in Africa. Especially the Vatican. they alone have the blood of billions on their hands.
anyways i don't see anything bad about the movie. they even potrayed robert langdon as a man who believes in Jesus(he prayed to him when he fell down that well) and who sees faith as more important than the truth(when he said that if u knew u're the decendent of Christ, would u destroy faith or renew it?)
so really, whats there to kick up a fuss about? Esp from a group of people who do not have the guts to face the truth about them being responsible for most of the violence in mankind's history.
Quite well put, when one is responsible one goes by reason. So when one has many conquests of higher order like when one is full of challenges to do well or is on the threshold of science and technology conquest, one will have no time to become obsessed with one own primitive emotional state or the need to satisfy one's own ego.Originally posted by LazerLordz:It's fiction, you all damned fools.
Being a responsible Christian means having an open mind and realising that some truths are unpalatable too.

When one is primitive, one is more likely to be concerned with insults or vindictiveness or about one's own emotion and reacts only upon emotional impulse.

Thing is, its not intended to be a fiction by the author, and it is used primarily as a charge against Muslims.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Not worth protesting about...
But if someone should do a movie on Satanic verses, do you think it will be passed with NC16 rating?
