Just to share my experience when I approached CDC for potential employee, there are still some sitting on the bench waiting for an interview according to the recruitment officers.
To me, they had been punished already..hence as long as they changed to good and suitable, I am really to take in if there is job available. Some had given them the chances, the number is still small. No everyone is forgiving, and many a time most of the employer are scared of ex convicted..
Just long as you can proved that you are a potential employers, the officers will be very glad to talk to you and even discuss further. -

If he had changed to a new leaf to be good and he is a fellow singaporean. I will take him as my employee if given the opportunities. I don't see why I should desert them since they are one of us.

Dealing with "Hokien" ping and dealing with "ex-convict", we have to give them respect first so that they felt worthy. Once they felt worthy, they will be very loyal and work for you even your paid is no that high. Only drug addict may have difficulties in changing because of weak determination.
As a employer, we had to lead by examples and no sitting there giving purely commands, else we will be like their prison supervisor. How productive are they inside the cell?
