Anyone is free to think that their country of birth is the best place to stay on earth. And having bad experiences in other countries shouldn't cloud one's judgement either. My personal opinion. -

hmm.... politics wise.... well.... everywhere have their own problems... here income tax is about 30%... more if u r earning more.... welfare state is still something controversial.... one party govt which at least helps its people to live a reasonable standard of living is a lot better than one horrible corrupt govt that is not able to provide basics for its people.... look at many african countries.... rich in natural resources (eg: sierra leone - have got DIAMONDS) but sadly, only the corrupted govt got rich... not its people....
i m not saying that i support PAP whole-heartedly.... i would like to see more transparency as well.... and hopefully stronger opposition who will not be sued during elections.... -

I don't have that problem overseas. The key element is not everyone will like you whether in singapore and overseas. Hmm. If you're going somewhere because you like the place, that's fine. If, on the other hand, you're going somewhere simply because you don't like where you are at the moment, you're off to a bad start.

Not necessarily. For one thing; you need not spend so many years paying off your housing and car loans. Meaning that you can retire early.
Your children are not unnecesssarily financially burdened.
And ah... you do not have a government that is looking down your shoulders all the time. -
